NARRATIVE REPORT ON CATCH UP FRIDAY

Reading is the primary avenue to knowledge and is an important tool for

learning. One can only learn the story of the creation, the history of man, his
dreams, his ideals and thoughts, even his hopes for the future, if he can read
printed matters.
In adherence to DepEd Order No. 001 Series of 2024, San Antonio
Elementary School commenced Catch-Up Fridays on January 12, 2023. Embracing
the essence of this directive, SANES spent the entire day reading as DEAR (Drop
Everything And Read) was implemented.
Teachers and learners actively engaged in reading short stories of which are
learners’ choice, and storytelling after discussing to them the importance of
implementing this activity. Reading logs were also provided where learners write
about what they have learn and read. The day was filled with fun in learning while
using interesting literacy activities to motivate learners to learn.
Through this initiative, the school aims develop learners love for reading and
as well as improve their reading and comprehension skills. The school’s
implementation of the first catch up Friday was indeed a success with the helping
hands of teachers and enthusiasm of learners to participate.
