REPORT

Workshop on “Raising Awareness on Human Rights”

The Department of Law organized a workshop “Raising Awareness on Human Rights” in
collaboration with IQAC Cell, MM(DU), Mullana on 15.06.2024 at 9:30 am onwards in the
department. The Programme was started with introduction of the workshop by Prof. Reetika
Bansal. Then, Speaker, Dr. Madhu Bala addressed the gathering about the Crimes against
Women. She discussed the offences against women enshrined under various laws and newly
enacted legislation i.e., Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS).

Dr. Sujata Dahiya discussed the laws relating to protection of Women against Sexual
Harassment at Workplace. Ms Randeep Kaur threw light on burning issue of Human
Trafficking at national and international level along with various circumstances and forms of
trafficking. In last, Dr Poonam Lamba informed about provisions relating to free legal
services under NALSA, and the functioning of Legal Aid Clinic in the department.

The event was overall successfully conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Reetika
Bansal and total 20 people attended the programme.
