National:
IHM Bhubaneswar to Setup First Sattvik Centre of
Excellence in India
· India's first-ever SAI National Centre of Excellence to train athletes in
mountain terrain biking and bicycle motocross will be set up in Shimla by the
Sports Ministry in collaboration with the Youth Services and Sports
department of the government of Himachal Pradesh.
· The collaboration between the centre and the state to set up this world-
class facility was formalised with the signing of a Memorandum of
Understanding on March 23.
· The NCOE is being set up to provide world-class training facilities to Indian
cyclists so that they can compete for the 18 Olympic medals in the
disciplines of MTB and BMX.
· This was followed by the oath taking of deputy CMs Keshav Prasad
Maurya and Brajesh Pathak.
· 50 other Ministers in the new cabinet also took oath on the day which
includes, 16 other cabinet ministers, 14 state ministers with independent
charge and 20 ministers of state.
· Many of Yogi's former cabinet colleagues could not manage to get
ministerial berths this time.
· Despite having lost the recent assembly elections, Keshav Prasad Maurya
continues to remain the deputy chief minister while cabinet minister in
previous government Brijesh pathak has been elevated to the deputy cm post.
Police officer turned politician Aseem Arun also became minister.

· Incumbent Himanta Biswa Sarma was re-elected unopposed as the
president of Badminton Association of India (BAI) for a second term of four

International Film Festival of Kerala to come to close in
Thiruvananthapuram
· Twenty-sixth edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) will
come to close in Thiruvananthapuram.
· Minister KN Balagopal will inaugurate the valedictory function, while
Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherial will announce the winners of the IFFK
awards.
· Popular actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and writer T. Padmanabhan will be
guests of honour.
· The film which bags the Golden Crow Pheasant will be screened at the
event.
· In all, 173 films drawn from different categories including internationally
rated movies have been screened in the eight-day festival.
