TAB (TABLATURE)

Tab is a popular way of writing guitar music down on paper.


It is made up of 6 lines and each line represents a string on the guitar - E, A, D, G, B, e.

Thinnest & highest sounding string e

A
Thickest & lowest sounding string E

The numbers show you which fret you will be playing.


In this example it will be -

0 0 3 5 open string / open string / 3rd fret / 5th fret

The numbers are placed on the line which indicates


which string you will be playing. In this example you
will be playing -

B string

When the numbers a shown next to eachother it


the notes will be played one after the other.

2 When there are numbers on top of each other
this means that the notes will be played at the
2 same time. A chord.
