Read me!
•There is a lot of optional color changing in the body.
I recommend checking out these techniques to do it cleanly and easily.
freshstitches.com/tip-for-working-long-color-changes-in-crochet/
planetjune.com/blog/amigurumi-help/changing-colour/colour-change-tutorials-right-handed/
•Unless noted otherwise, crochet in a continuous spiral. Mark the last stitch of each round.

•Don't put too much stuffing in pieces. Too much fiberfill stuffing can distort crochet shapes.
You don't need to use a lot!

•I use 14-16g craft wire inside my dolls as a skeleton. See: final page on assembly.

•I make dolls with basic, cheap acrylic yarn. Red Heart, Caron (One Pound), and store brands make
up most of my collection. For my amigurumi, stiff and “itchy” yarns work best.

•I painted my own safety eyes. You can read about painting eyes on my blog.

•I do not have any other language translations available. I try to write as simple as possible for Google
translate to be helpful.
Example (F) Round numbers
Hook size used
for the piece

r1 sc 6 in magic ring (6) Total number of stitches in

the round, a handy note.
r2 *inc* (12)
r3 *1sc, inc* (18) Inc, inc, inc, inc, inc, inc,
sc, sc, sc, sc, sc, sc, sc.....
r4 *2sc, inc* (24)
Repeat directions *in asterisks* to
the end of the round. In most cases
r5 6inc, 18sc (30) I work in multiples of 6's, so it will
usually be 6 times. (Sometimes
r7a slst around (30) pieces are in 5's)
r7b sc around (30) Example: *2sc, inc* (24) =
r8 2sc, inc, *4sc, inc* x5, 2sc (36) Sc, sc, inc, sc, sc, inc, sc, sc, inc,
sc, sc, inc, sc, sc, inc, sc, sc, inc
For a total of 24 stitches

Example 2: *2sc,dec*, 2sc (14) =

Cleanly changing to a new color Sc, sc, dec, sc, sc, dec, sc, sc, dec,
takes two rounds- but it only looks like sc, sc, dec, sc, sc
one round when you're done. For a total of 14 stitches
I call these A and B so you can still
easily count the rounds on your piece In this case the 2 sc are extra at
if you lose track. (I do all the time) the end because you can't fit in
another repeat. This comes up in
some of my old patterns, but I try to
avoid it for better math.

Repeat what's in *asterisks* x5 (five times)

Example: 2sc, inc, *4sc, inc* x5, 2sc (36) =

Sc, sc, inc, {Repeat (sc, sc, sc, sc, inc) 5 times}, sc, sc

around the post, rather than under
r13 17sc, BLO 12hdc, 17sc (46) the loops. These 4 post stitches help
r14 15sc, dec, 12sc, dec, 15sc (44) change the direction of the fabric.

•Finish off, sew shut.

Attach 15mm eyes between

r10 and r11, with about 6.5
stitches between them.)

Optional SCulpt
This is optional, but does define the shape
better. You can read more about the
needle sculpting technique here
•Use a long yarn needle. Insert from the back,
through the front.
•Capture the center stitch where the snout
begins.
•Insert through the front, coming
out back where you started.
•Pull gently, knot, and weave tails
to anchor the shape.

Or play around with them! You could sew them
in many different directions, it was hard to
make a decision.

•Take a moment to turn the shape inside out, and

tie off color changes. Flip it back and continue, and tie as
you go along. As the shape shrinks, it becomes difficult to
get in there.

r21 7sc, 4sc, 7sc (18) slst, and the loop directly behind it. I've
highlighted the slst's here to clarify.
•Insert a wire skeleton now if you want.
•Lightly stuff- you can add pebbles or BB's for weight in the
bottom.

stand up, and it plugs into the head.

•Optional: Latch hook a few split strands of
brown, if you want him to have some raggedy
hair tufts.
Assembly
Head:
•Sew nose on the end of snout.
•Sew the fangs on the bottom of snout.
•Use a piece of light pink to hide the
seam. Wrap around the base of each
fang twice. Knot, weave in end.

•Sew flattened spines onto head and

body. Large spine goes on top center of
head. (Then: medium, small, small,
medium)

Legs:
•Sew thighs to bottom of body, where the
belly starts. Stuff lightly.

•I put wire shapes into the open end of

the feet to help him stand up. (It was
hard to get a clear picture of. I have
drawn it in the diagram.) Each foot has
one, they come out and plug into the
thigh/body.

•The tail also has a wire in it. Sew tail to

the center after legs are on.

Arms:
•I wanted him to have long spooky
poseable arms. The arm bar is one long
twisted piece that goes through his torso.

•Slip the arms over, and sew to body with

shoulders up.

Final:
•I wanted him to have some raggedy tufts
of hair. I used a couple split pieces of
brown yarn, and latch-hooked them to
the ears and tail.

•Some final wet blocking can make him

look sharp. Especially in the claws, Arms about to be sewed on.
