1. They could easily be characterized as young, mostly, uneducated men. Putting the pronouns at
the end of the lines puts emphasis on the 'we.’ Maybe they have a strong sense of brotherhood?
I'm not sure how different it would sound if the 'we' was at the beginnings of the lines, but
visually, it might not be as striking.
2. I'm not sure it's entirely clear. There doesn't seem to be any outright condemnation or
edification of their behavior. There is definitely a tone shift, but whatever it is meant for seems
to be open for interpretation.
3. Well, from one perspective, the characters are certainly digging themselves into a hole with
their carefree lifestyle.

We Old Dudes

1. I suppose it could be said that these men, in their old age, are doing nothing of value except
voting.
2. Palm Beach implies that these are wealthy men who enjoy the sun.
