PROJECT : SM KABALIKAT SA KABUHAYAN ( KSK) ON SUSTAINABLE

AGRICULTURE PROGRAM – NAMPICUAN, NUEVA ECIJA

Objective :
The project envisions to help teach the participants the concept of smart farming using
the limited spaces or backyards of their households. The end objective was to bring
nutritious food to every table of its participants.
Brief Description:
It is a 12-week program which will teach the participants how to utilize space for
backyard farming. Crops will be grown during the training mainly vegetables and fruits
such as bitter gourd, eggplant, green beans, lettuce, okra, radish, squash, sweet potato,
tomato, watermelons and melons.
SM Foundation partners with the Department of Social Welfare and Development which
will conduct values formation and entrepreneurship trainings for the farmer-participants.

Timetable :
April 1- 30, 2024: Consultation Meeting with Mr Chris Ian G. Cebricus, DSWD staff.
Coordination with MAT Nampicuan for the identification of
project site and beneficiaries;
Exploratory meeting with Punong Barangays ( Mayantoc,
Medico, Recuerdo)
1st Week of May : Identification of beneficiaries and location.
Meeting and overview of the project to Parent leaders during
their meeting.
2nd week of May: Completion of proposal and final list of Pantawid beneficiaries.
May 30, 2024 : Project Launching at Nampicuan, Nueva Ecija
3rd Floor Function Hall, Nampicuan
June – August 2024 : 12 Weeks Training cum gardening
Aug-Sep 2024 : Harvest Festival/ Graduation of Participants
at SM Cabanatuan

Barangay Counterpart : 500 square meter lot for gardening
