5 Requirements for the measuring report for category A

5.1 Access to MDM in the B2B portal
Access to the MDM under “B2B  Applications  All applications  MDM Web client”
5.1.1 Export measurement plans on the basis of generating a measuring report
Measurement plans can be exported from MDM in the following formats:
− BMWIpp (import and export);
− BMWMess (import and export);
− I++ DMS (import and export);
− PDF (export).
5.1.2 Importing measurements
After carrying out the measurements the results can be imported into MDM in the format set out in section 5.1.1
(except PDF).
5.1.3 Interpretation/structure of the measuring report
In combination with the available print layouts (e.g. measuring report, bar graph) it is possible to create an assessment
in accordance with your requirements.

5.2 Report head
The report head shall be edited when filing the measurement reports in the B2B portal. The report head shall include
at least the following information:
− object code:
− A: Analysis (is not used by BMW in statistics analysis);
− S: Standard measurements (for statistics);
− clamping situation in the comment about the measurement;
− measurement technique;
− comment;
− production date.
5.3 Abbreviation of features in the MDM evaluation
Details of the most important features, e.g. form (FRM), distance (ABS) are described in the format descriptions.
Surfaces point (FPT)
Surfaces deviation vectorial
Edges point (KPT)
Trim point (BPT)
Trim and surfaces deviation (trim and normal to the surface)
Circular hole (KRE)
Position deviation (XYZ) and diameter deviation
Long or rectangular hole (LLO or RLO)
Position deviation (XYZ), dimension (length and breadth)

6 Requirements for the measuring report for category B
The measuring report is to be structured as follows:
− cover sheet/report header;
− reference system with graphic;
− measuring element with graphic:
− FMK elements;
− SPC elements;
− other elements.
6.1 Constituents of the cover sheet
The measuring report’s cover sheet shall contain at least the following information:
− project;
− part code;
− part number/drawing number;
− drawing index ZI, change index AI: If a current design status that deviates from the component index was used for
measuring, please give the following;
− reference system
− mathematical alignment (free component support),
− measuring support (photo) or
− combined alignment mathematically with measuring support;
− if applicable, the clamping situation in the comments for the measuring according to the measurement plan
(support points and tensioning force as graphic);
− part identification: The classification of the measured component on the report shall be clear;
− note on component maturity: Sample BBG, VS, off-tool, initial sample, SE;
− information on the production date;
− if applicable, information on the tool nest in the tool;
− relevant measuring technician (phone number, email address).
