3 ACCOMMODATION
3.1 GENERAL
A six(6) person lift to be fitted to serve all levels in the accommodation below
the navigation bridge deck and the lowest practical level(4th deck level) in
engine room.
Bar type anti-pirate lock similar to NYK standard to be provided for the
stainless steel doors where direct entrance to accommodation at B, C
and D-deck.
Pentagon type door locks similar to NYK standard to be provided for the
steel doors where direct entrance to steering gear room at sunken deck,
to upper deck and A-deck level of accommodation space, and engine
casing from upper deck.
Bolt type anti-pirate lock to be provided for CO2 room, paint store, deck
store and other stores near engine casing, and Bosun store room
forward.
3.1.1 LAY-OUT
The living quarters such as living space, public space, office space,
navigation & control space, corridor space, sanitary space, catering space,
provisions space and sundry space to be arranged in the aft deckhouse.
Designation Allocation
The clear height in the living quarters to be about 2200 mm, but sanitary
space and catering space may be about 2100 mm from the top of floor
covering to the bottom of overhead deck or ceiling. However, the protruding
part such as ceiling lamp, ventilating louver and unavoidable corner bracket,
etc. to be excluded from the measurement.

3.1.4 INSULATION
*** In case of E/R, glass wool abt. 24 kg/m3 for thermal & sound insulation,
abt. 110 kg/m3 for hull tank insulation, abt. 110 kg/m3 for fire insulation.
Silicate board (50 mm thick) will be provided in the living space, public space
or dry provision store, if the space is directly contacted with heated fuel oil
tanks in engine room.
SOUND INSULATION
FIRE INSULATION
Fire insulation in engine room to be covered with glass cloth with aluminium
foil as oil vapour barrier.
Other detail of securing and construction of the bottom profile, top profile,
skirting, etc. to be in accordance with the Builder's normal practice, unless
otherwise required by the Rule and Regulation.
The Builder to provide color samples for the Buyer's selection of panel
finishing.
PARTITION BULKHEAD
(#) Note : Partition bulkhead between cabins, cabin and public space to be of
high noise reduction type (45dB) where no steel wall is applied.
The door to be insulated where fire insulation applied in the wall to which the
door is fitted.
The door catcher or door hook to be provided to all doors other than those
with self-closing device.
Rain shade to be provided to the door facing to the weather without having
overhanging deck above.
Sill height to be in accordance with the relevant Rule and Regulation and to
be provided with stainless steel top.
Top of weather door to be about 1900 mm high above the surface of the deck
covering.
Joiner door to have clear head height of 2000 mm from top of deck covering
to top of door opening except the refrigerating chamber, catering space and
sanitary space.
The clear width of the door to have minimum 700 mm opening except for the
lavatory door which to be 600 mm.
Spray fresh water pipe connected to domestic fresh water line to be led over
the wheelhouse front window for washing.
Hot water also to be led over the wheelhouse front window.
Baked polyester coated steel window boxes to be provided for all windows
and side scuttles except for the wheelhouse window.
The quantity of windows and side scuttles for cabins and rooms to be
provided according to following standard.

WINDOW
All rectangular windows of steel frame to be provided for A deck and above,
wheelhouse and engine control room.
Sun screens of roller type to be provided for all windows in wheel
house.
★ Eleven(11) window wipers of straight type to be provided for the
wheelhouse front windows. (EDGE parking type of window wiper to be
applied for the enter window)
Each one open type window to be provided in wheelhouse wing
side(both side) for overlooking the ship side, if not any problem
according to Rule/Regulation.
SIDE SCUTTLE
The side scuttle on the upper deck level to be fitted with top hinged deadlight
of steel or equivalent.
The deck covering for the accommodation on the upper deck level, basically
no levelling work to be made for providing horizontal plane to the cambered
deck part, except for office or public space which require horizontal plane
floor.
PVC skirting to be provided for to boundary wall except sanitary and catering
space.

The cement bed or equivalent to be laid under tiles so that the total thickness
of cement and tile to be average 40 mm and necessary slope to scupper to
be provided.
INTERIOR STAIRWAY
3.1.10 ELEVATOR
The elevator to be built in closed steel trunk and run from below Navigation
bridge deck to the lowest practical level(4th deck) in engine room and to
have stops at every deck.
The cage door to be automatically operated double leaf sliding type and
outside doors to be of manual swing type.
On top of elevator trunk 600mm x 600mm hatch openable from both sides to
be provided for emergency escape.
GENERAL
Main furniture and fittings to be as described in detail and the size and
number of furniture may be changed slightly by the cabin arrangement.
Top of the reception table, mess table and desk to be finished with the
melamine plastic laminate.
The leg of table to be fitted to suit the function as per Builder's practice.
Open type book case for A4 size document to be min. 19m long in
wheelhouse, 5m long for each ECR/CCR/Ship's Office and 1m in
Hospital.
(total storage length is measured as one tier of bookshelf)
Letter case of A4 size to be provided at the outside entrance of each
cabin(except suez crew cabin) and A3 size for inside of W/H,CCR,ECR
and central office.
Door curtain and bed curtain : refer to page 3-26.
HARDWARE
Lock for door of public toilet and of hospital bathroom to be fitted with
occupation indicator.
Door hook or holder to be provided for door which to be kept open where
necessary.

Note : Drawers for chart table could be pull out from both sides and slit

One (1) public toilet to be provided near the engine control room.
Swimming pool
Swimming pool to be fitted with SUS 316 ladder. SUS 316 hand grip rail to be
fitted around the pool, where applicable.
Pool to have sea water filling hose connection from the fire main line and also
to have branch line for connection to aux. central cooling sea water line.
Awning
Awning stanchion to be galvanized steel tube and wooden chocks for holding
down to be provided under awning.
SHIP'S LAUNDRY
Note(#) : For Officer's laundry, the other facility (such as electric facility
and water supply system, etc.) is same as crew’s laundry for
future installation of additional washing machine and drying
tumbler.

3.3.1 GENERAL
Electric heating is also to be provided for the following rooms for spot
heating:
- Each drying rooms for laundries : 2kW x 1 set (refer to section 3.1.14)
- Emergency generator room : 7 kW x 1 set
- Steering gear room : 7kW x 2 sets (#)
- Bosun store : 7 kW x 2 sets (#)
- Thruster room : 7 kW (#)
(#) Note : the electric heaters to be installed near the machine.
Minimum rate of air changes per hour specified in the following table may be
changed according to the results of detail heat load calculation and the
requirements of the applicable regulations.

The refrigerant for cooler to be provided from main air con.
system.
The central unit to be tested at the maker's shop in accordance with the
maker's usual practice.
The main and auxiliary air conditioning systems, each system to be consisted
of two 100%, centrally located cross-connected units each incorporating one
100% refrigeration compressor and one 100% air handling unit.
The material and design to be as per the maker's standard unless otherwise
specified.
One(1) Humidifier
One(1) Ventilating fan of two(2) speed electric motor driven centrifugal type
Fresh air for air handling units to be drawn through the air supply head and to
be led to air handling units.
Recirculation air for the central unit to be drawn through the grille provided on
the wall or ceiling of the corridor space and to be led to the central unit.
In summer :
(2) When the ambient temperature becomes lower than condition (1) the
compressor to be stopped automatically and restarted automatically
when the temperature is higher than condition (1), by the electro-
magnetic valve and thermostat, having thermobulb located in return air
duct.

3.3.3.1 FAN
NATURAL VENTILATION
Ventilating louver with shutter may be provided on the door leading to the
passage from the living space, public space (except hospital) and office
space.
3.3.4.1 GENERAL
This section describes the details of ventilation system mainly for the steering
gear room, stores and other areas except for the cargo tanks, living quarters
and machinery space which are described separately in the Hull Piping
Section, Accommodation Section and Machinery Section, respectively.
If the height of coaming exceed 900 mm, bracket may be fitted on the
coaming of mushroom vent.
2.3mm plate to be painted steel plate. Burnt part to be touch-up by zinc rich
paint.
The capacity of ventilating fans to be based on the following air change rate
for empty space listed below neglecting deduction made by equipment and
other furnishings.
Marine use axial flow type fans of which the impeller and electric motors are
incorporated in the fan casing, to be provided.
All external ventilators to be correctly and clearly identified with a name plate
showing the service area.
3.4 STORES
High room temperature alarms in the IAS and personnel trap alarms near
chief steward room and wheelhouse to be provided.
One refrigerating unit to have capacity enough to maintain the specified
temperature within 18 hours running per day after cooling down while the
other unit to serve as stand-by.
The electrical defrost system with timer to be provided for the meat and fish
room.
The material and design to be as per the maker's standard unless otherwise
specified.
Cooling down test for refrigerated provision chamber to be carried out after
the completion in accordance with Builder's practice.
MISCELLANEOUS
