pursue a Master of Arts in English at University of Augsburg. My interest in English language and
literature, has been a lifelong passion that began in my childhood. This early fascination led me to
study core literature in high school, laying the foundation for my undergraduate degree in
Bachelor of Education (Arts) with English as my major. My academic journey has been
characterized by a profound love for the written word, a dedication to critical inquiry, and a
curiosity to explore diverse literary traditions and perspectives.
English Language and Literature have always been a source of inspiration and intellectual
stimulation for me. The richness and complexity of the English language, the storytelling power,
and the diversity of literary genres continue to captivate my imagination and drive my desire to
delve into new literary realms. I am particularly interested in African American literature. As a
Ghanaian, I have always wanted to explore themes related to the transatlantic slave trade and
the African diaspora, which have historical connections to Ghana and other African countries. By
engaging with African American literature, I can uncover shared histories, experiences, and
struggles that resonate with my own cultural background. This has led me to the research topic;
“The comparative analysis of African American literature with other diasporic literatures”.
