Types of Warehouse Robots:
1)Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs):
2)Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs):
3)Collaborative Robots (Cobots):
4)Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS):
5)Palletizing Robots:
6)Autonomous Forklifts:
7)Autonomous Conveyor Systems:
8)Pick-and-Place Robots:
Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs):
• These are larger complex robots that move around a warehouse floor
and transport goods between different locations.
• They are typically equipped with sensors and are guided by a pre-
programmed route or controlled remotely.
Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs):
• These are similar to AGVs, but they are more advanced and can navigate
the warehouse space using sophisticated algorithms
• These algorithms allow them to adapt to changing environments and
avoid obstacles.
Collaborative Robots (Cobots):
• These are robots that work alongside human workers in a warehouse
environment.
• They are designed to assist with repetitive tasks, such as picking and packing
• They are equipped with sensors that allow them to detect the presence of
humans and avoid collisions.
Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS):
• These are robotic systems that are used to store and retrieve items in a
warehouse.
• They typically consist of a series of racks and shelves that are accessed by a
robot arm or conveyor system.
Palletizing Robots:
• These are robots that are used to stack and organize pallets of goods in a
warehouse.
• They are equipped with sensors and advanced software algorithms that allow
them to identify and pick up items and place them in the correct location.
Autonomous Forklifts:
• These are similar to AGVs, but they are designed specifically for lifting and
moving pallets and other heavy loads.
• They can be programmed to perform loading and unloading trucks, stacking
pallets, and moving goods around the warehouse.
Autonomous Conveyor Systems:
• These are systems of conveyor belts and other automated equipment that
move goods around the warehouse without the need for human
intervention.
Pick-and-Place Robots:
• These are robotic arms that can pick up items from one location and place
them in another.
• They are often used for picking and packing items in warehouses and
distribution centers
Examples Of Amazon’s Different Types Of Warehouse Robots
• Amazon Robotics Drive Units: These are small robots that can navigate
through the warehouse to move storage pods around the facility.
• Amazon Robotics Palletizers: These are larger robots that are designed to move
and stack pallets of products in the warehouse.
• Kiva Robots: These robots are designed to moveshelves of products around the
warehouse, bringing them to human workers for picking and packing.
• Amazon Robotics Sort Centers: These are large-scale automated systems that
sort packages and parcels based on their destination.
Examples of warehouse robots that are used in India:
• GreyOrange Butler: This is an autonomous mobile robot that is used for order
fulfillment in warehouses.
• Fanuc M-20iB/25: This is a robotic arm that is used for palletizing and
depalletizing tasks in warehouses.
• ABB FlexPicker: This is a robotic system that is used for high-speed picking and
packing tasks in warehouses
• Robotic Conveyor Systems: These systems use robotic arms to sort and move
products along the conveyor belt, reducing the need for human workers.
• Locus Robotics: This is a warehouse automation system that uses robots and
artificial intelligence to optimize the picking process.
