Pasado Continuo en inglés

El pasado continuo en inglés es un tiempo verbal que se utiliza para expresar acciones que se
estuvieron desarrollando por un periodo de tiempo especifico en el pasado. Por ejemplo: no es lo
mismo decir ayer jugué tenis, que, ayer estaba jugado tenis cuando mis amigos llegaron.

Estructura afirmativa

Subject + Be Past + Verb+ing + Complement

I was watching a movie in the evening

Ejemplos:

Roy was studying for the exam

My teacher was reading a book when my friends arrived
My mom was cooking dinner when we arrived home
I was working on the project all week

Estructura negativa

Subject + Be Past not + Verb+ing + Complement

I was not watching a movie in the evening

Ejemplos:

Roy was not studying for the exam

My teacher was not reading a book when my friends arrived
My mom was not cooking dinner when we arrived home
I was working not on the project all week

Estructura interrogativa

Be Past + Subject + Verb+ing + Complement + ?

Was I watching a movie in the evening ?

Ejemplos:

Was Roy studying for the exam Yes, he was. No, he wasn’t.
Was my teacher reading a book when my friends arrived Yes, he was. No, he wasn’t.
Was my mom cooking dinner when we arrived home Yes, she was. No, she wasn’t
