Dear Parents:

We are into the second half of our Governor's School journey and I want to let you know
about our final day so you will know how to make your plans. You may already know
fi-om my opening day remarks that good-bye hugs and farewell tears will mark Saturday,
July 31. It will be difficult for you to get away as quickly as you might hope.

We will begin Area I classes at 8:30 a.m. and movefi-omthem to the gymnasium where
we will have a brief 40 minute closing ceremony. I beheve that we can bring that session
to a close at 10:30 a.m. I know that some of you have long distances to travel, so we will
be mindful of your needs.

I want to ask you to be careful of the college lawn as you pack your cars to leave. We ask
that you stack your son's or daughter's belongings at the edge of their dorm and then drive
down on the walk to quickly pack them in your vehicle. Please stay on the walkway so as
to protect the grass. We will have greeters at the dorm and at the parking lots to offer
you directions.

Thank you for sending us such a rich gift. The students of Governor's School East were
unusuallyfinein all respects. 1 know you agree with me on that.

Sincerely,

Governor's School East
