BIOGRAPHY

Lily Collins was born on March 28, 1966, in New York City, her younger sister and older brother
were raised by their parents in a tough New York neighborhood. Unfortunately, she was born
with a severe hearing disability. Despite her problem soon proved to be a musical savant.

Lily´s early years were marked by countless medical appointments, therapies and the
continuous struggle to overcome the limitations of her condition. At the tender of two she was
diagnosed 80% deaf. That would affect and limit her for the rest of her life. Because of her
disability she suffered bullying in several schools. Furthermore, her mother did not have
enough resources for her medicines and she had to live in severe pain. Regardless her physical
disabilities, she displayed an uncanny talent for playing music.

Little by little she earned recognition for their achievements in her rhythm songs, receiving the
prestigious, Cumareb Music in 1986 with only twenty years. Additionally, she was honored
with the Barrier Breaker Medal for promoting inclusivity in 1988.Moreover; she was awarded
with the Academic Achievement Medal in 1989. The following year, she was honored with the
Global Savant Award. Furthermore, she received National Music Genius Award in 1992. Lastly,
this inspiring individual was award with the Mozart Award for her exceptional achievements.

Lily advocates her fame to advocate for disability rights and awareness, contributing to a more
inclusive society for people with disabilities. Lily began teaching music at a school, showing us
that a disability cannot limit your goals.
