Chapter 1 How to Use Access Control Service on Hik-

Connect for Teams

1.1 Check Compatibility List

Before adding the corresponding device, you need to check the compatibility list. You can get the
device compatibility list from the Help Center of the Hik-Connect for Teams Portal.

Figure 1-1 Check Compatibility List

Note
● If the firmware version of your device is lower than that listed in the document, a version
upgrade is required, otherwise some of the functions may not be supported.
● Devices NOT listed in the document may also be added to Hik-Connect for Teams, but if added,
some of the Hik-Connect for Teams functions may be inaccessible. The service is available only
when devices are added via Hik-Connect (P2P).

1.2 Configuration Flow

To use the access control service, you need to first add access control devices to the System, and
then configure access levels by grouping doors and assign the access levels to the corresponding
persons. For example, in a building, if floor A has two doors,i.e., Door 1 and Door 2, you can create
an access level A for people getting access to these two doors. Then, assign the access level to
certain department or person, and the corresponding persons will have the access permission to
Door 1 and Door 2.
