Task 1:

The provided table and charts compare the police budget between
2017 and 2018 in a particular area of Britain. The table gives
information on the derivation of the money, and the charts below
illustrate how it is distributed.

In general, there was an upward trend in almost all different

sources. However, the amount of money spent on salaries was reversed.

In 2017, the national government provided the major money for

the police budget; this number grew slightly and reached 177.8 million
after a year. Following that, local taxes initially ranked second with 91.2
million; this source rose rapidly, up to over 10 million a year. Finally,
just 38 million was acquired from other sources, such as grants. It also
had the least increase and ended with 38.5 million. According to the
statistics, the sum was recorded to be from 304.7 million to 318.6
million.

Additionally, the majority of police budget was spent for salaries

which were for officers and staff, dropping slightly from 75% to 69%. In
contrast, the money technology received went up sharply and reached
14% in 2018. Another category was buildings and transports which had
remained stable for two years.
Task 2:

According to the development of technology, smartphone becomes

an essential feature in human life, which leads to the growth of hours
youngsters use to see their smartphone. There are several reasons for this
phenomenon and I strongly believe that it brings more benefits than
drawbacks.

The first reason for this contemporary trend is the improvement of

social network. Nowadays, the large number of social media develops
with a rapid speed, therefore, to avoiding being low-tech, people have to
update and receive information frequently through surfing the internet.
Moreover, some studying apps are invented, such as zoom and google
meet, which also promote the over usages of technology. Another reason
is that smart devices provide social benefits for children. The
smartphone connected with internet opens up the large opportunities,
from making new friends to communicating with them. For example, a
child can chat with friends, who are so far away from her, by a social
media, either Facebook or Messengers, and spend the number of hours
video calling with them. It is firmly demonstrated that the amount of
time which the young may be sit in front of screen is increasing
dramatically.

As a result, smartphones can help students improve their

knowledge. At present, if a pupil needs to search information about
various fields, he can find out it easily on the Internet. For instance,
some pupils may learn a new language by watching videos and reading
online articles, which helps them study anywhere and any when. In
addition, it has developed some important social skills, such as
communication and teamwork skills.

In conclusion, the overuse of technological machines is current

among children, which can result to beneficial experience.
