5D 0r
the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 (19 of 1952)
and I~ supersession of the Employees' Provident Food Organisation (Commissioners)
Recruitment Rules, 1966, except in respect of things done or omitted to be done before such
supersession, the Central Board hereby makes the following rules for regulating the method
of recruitment to the post of Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner in the Employees'
Provident Fund Organisation, namely:-

I. SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENT:

(1) These rules may be called the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation
(Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner) Recruitment Rules, 1999 ..

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official
Gazette.

2. NUMBEROF POSTS,CLASSIFICATION AND SCALE OF PA Y:'

TIle number of posts, their classification and scaie of pay attached thereto shall be as
specified in columns 2 to 4 of the Schedule annexed to these Rules, .

3. METHOD OF RECRUITMENT, AGE. LIMIT AND OTHER


QUALIFICATIONS:

The method of recruitment, age limit, qualifications and other matters connected
therewith shall be as speci ficd in columns 5 to 14 of the said Schedule .

4. DISQUALI FICAT I ON:
"

No persorr-
(a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a 'person having a spouse
living, or .
(b) who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with
any person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said post.

Provided that the Central Board may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible
under the personal law applicable to such person and the other partyto ~he marr,iage and that
,! there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operauon of this rule.
5, POWER TO RELAX:
Where the Central Board is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient to do so, it
may, by order for reasons to be recorded in writing, and in consultation with the Ministry of"
Labour, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of '.
persons.

6. SAVINGS:
Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other
concessions required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Ex-
'\ Servicemen and other special categories of persons 'in accordance with the orders issued .by
the Central Government from time to time in this regard.

the Employees' Provident Fund OrganiSation (Assistant Provident Fund Commissi.oner~
Recruitment Rules, 1999 notified vide Gazette Notification No.P-IV/I(9)99; dated 30
August 1999 namely:-

I (i) These Rules may be called Employees Provident Fund Organisation. Assistant
Provident Fund Commissioner (Amendment) Recruitment Rules, 2005.

(ii) They shall come into force on the date of their pub1ication in the Official Gazette.
