Good morning dear members of the jury. Let’s me introduce myself: I’m Mahugnon Sergeo
Emmanuel HOUNGBEDJI. I’m 21 years old. I’m student in mathematical science. I’m single without
children. I live at Akpakpa and I’m Beninese from Grand-Popo.
I’m before you today to give my presentation about Social Media and its influence on the society.
My presentation will follow this outline: Firstly, I will give a general introduction. Secondly the definition
of some key concepts of my topic, thirdly the positive impact of social media on the society, next the
negative impact of social media on the society, after that evolution and trends, in the next position
challenges and risks and then responsible uses strategies. Finally, I will conclude. So dear members of
the jury, without any further delay, let me start the development of my presentation.
Social media is very important in our lives today. It helps people talk to each other and share
information quickly.
Social media are online places like Facebook and Instagram. People use them to share information,
pictures, and videos. Additionally, Social media can change what people think and do. It can spread news
and suggest products to buy. Furthermore, Social media affects how people in society talk and interact.
It can bring people together or create problems. Thus, it has some positive and negative impact on our
society.
One major positive impact is that Social media helps people stay in touch with friends and family.
It makes communication easy and fast. In addition, Social media offers educational content and learning
opportunities. People can learn new things online. Moreover, Businesses use social media for advertising.
They can reach many customers through social media. Another positive impact is that Social media helps
people support important causes and movements. It can create positive change in society. However, there
are also negative impacts to consider.
On the other hand, spending too much time on social media can be bad for health. People can
become addicted to screens. Another negative impact is cyberbullying, which is when people are mean
to others online. It can hurt people's feelings and self-esteem. Additionally, fake news can spread quickly
on social media. It can make people believe wrong information. Lastly, personal information can be
shared without permission on social media. This can lead to privacy problems.
Over time, Social media changes with new trends and technologies. Understanding these changes
helps us use social media better. Despite the positive and negative impacts, the evolution of social media
is constant.

challenges like screens addiction and cyberbullying. Moreover, it also has risks like the spread of false
information and privacy issues.
Therefore, it’s crucial to adopt responsible use practices. Learning how to use social media safely
and smartly is important. People need to know the risks and benefits. Additionally, Parents should help
children use social media responsibly. They can teach kids how to stay safe online. Furthermore, Social
media companies need strong rules to protect users' privacy and safety. These rules help create a better
online community.
