21ST JUNE – INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

“Yoga is the artwork of awareness on the canvas of body, mind, and soul…”

The 21st of June marks the International Day of Yoga, a day dedicated to
celebrating the ancient Indian practice that has captured the hearts and minds of
millions around the world. This year's theme, "Yoga for Self and Society,"
perfectly encapsulates the two-fold benefit of yoga promoting personal well-
being and fostering a more harmonious society.
The date, June 21st, coincides with the summer solstice in the Northern
Hemisphere, the longest day of the year, symbolizing growth and new beginnings.
In Hindu mythology, it marks the transition to Dakshinayana, and it’s associated
with Lord Shiva, the first yogi, imparting yoga knowledge to humanity. It's a day
to celebrate the transformative power of yoga and raise awareness about its
numerous benefits.
Yoga is more than just physical exercises or stretching. It is a holistic approach to
health and well-being that integrates the body, mind, and spirit. Through various
postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation. Yoga
improves flexibility, strength, balance, and posture. It can also alleviate chronic
pain and improve cardiovascular health. It helps in managing stress, anxiety, and
depression. It promotes relaxation and improves focus and concentration.
Remember, yoga is not just about physical postures; it’s a journey toward balance
and self-discovery. As you celebrate International Day of Yoga, unroll your mats
and embark on a journey of self-discovery. Let the ancient wisdom guide you
toward balance, peace, and well-being.
Wishing you a journey of self-reflection and enlightenment on this International
Day of Yoga…
Namaste!
