2. Pivot Sleeve

CAUTION! Ensure that each set of electrical wires exiting the hose
aligns with a groove on the pivot sleeve so that the wires do not twist
around the base of the pivot sleeve. Improper alignment can
damage the wires, resulting in a possible electrical short.

5. Align the pivot sleeve and the hose (3) so the grooves along the sides of
the pivot sleeve line up with each set of wires exiting the hose. Make
sure to route the set of wires containing the ground wire up the groove on
the heater side of the pivot sleeve.
NOTE: Hand‐held applicators with a thermostat use only one set of
electrical wires.

7. Place one set of wires into the groove in the pivot sleeve and rotate the
wire retaining clip so that it holds the wires securely in the groove. If your
hand‐held applicator uses an RTD sensor, repeat steps 5 and 6 to secure
the other set of wires. If you do not know your hand‐held applicator's
configuration, refer to Electrical Connections.
8. Continue installing the hand‐held applicator by completing the procedure
Electrical Connections.

Electrical Connections
Before connecting the hose to the applicator, make electrical connections as
described in the following procedures. The procedure you follow depends
upon your hand‐held applicator's configuration.

S If you purchased a hand‐held applicator configured with an RTD sensor

for use with a Series 5000 applicator, follow the procedure Configuration
A (RTD‐Style, Series 5000).
S If your hand‐held applicator is configured with an RTD sensor for use with
any applicator, except a Series 5000 applicator, follow the procedure
Configuration B (RTD‐Style, Other Than Series 5000).
S If you purchased a hand‐held applicator configured with a thermostat,
follow the procedure Configuration C (Thermostat Style).
