Lastly, students imagine they are going away to a city and write
four sentences using modals of possibility and certainty describing
their plans. In pairs, students then read out their sentences and
their partner tries to guess where they are going.
Sam is going on holiday to Greece. He will only be there for a week though, so he probably
won't have time to do all the things he wants to. He loves history, so he will visit the
Acropolis, and he will probably go to the Temple of Zeus too. He also enjoys shopping, so
he might visit the markets in Athens to buy some presents. Sam plans to try lots of the local
food while he is in Greece, but he might not try Greek coffee as he's heard it is very strong.
As he won't be in Greece for very long, he probably won't visit any of the Greek islands, so
he will have to do that another time. Unfortunately, it is winter, so he won't go to the beach
while he is there. This isn't a problem though because Sam doesn't know how to swim.
