Water Safety!

Year 5 and
At the pool...

Don't go swimming in big bodies of water alone!

There is no one there to save you if something bad
happens!

Always keep the pool gate shut! Even if it's not you,
little siblings could walk in and drown!

There is always a risk with water! You only need 2cm

of water to drown so tip out unused water containers
and buckets!
At the beach...

Swim between the flags! No matter how tempting it is,

never swim outside the flags because you never know
what dangers there could be!

Always listen to lifeguards! They are the real water safety

experts and they are the other people that can protect you
other than yourself!

Read the safety signs at the beach! They were put

there for a reason and that reason is to KEEP YOU
SAFE!
Anywhere else!

Never jump into murky water because you never

know what could be in there! Stick to bodies of
water that you know are safe.

River banks can be very slippery! if you're not

careful, you could end up in the creek! Be careful
around creeks and rivers so you don't slip.

Water tanks may look fun to swim in, but they

can be very dangerous! Never ever swim in
water tanks because if you aren't careful, you
might end up not coming back up!
While in the water, have fun, but also...

BE WATER-
SAFE!
