Opening scene is set in the Madrigal house.

The actors make the blueprint of

the magical Madrigal house and come to life during the number.
During Mirabel and Abuela scenes, the lines can be broken up so multiple
actors can play these parts.
This workshop will primarily focus around the 3 songs: Family Madrigal, We
Don’t Talk About Bruno and All Of You.

A group of kids approach Mirabel (who is wearing purple spectacles…more

ARTS&CRAFTS) and ask lots of enthusiastic questions:

ALL: what’s your gift? Mirabel!!! Mirabel!!! MIRABEL!!!

1)Do you have a power?
2)Can you fly?
3)Can you go invisible?
4) Are you really good at maths?
5)Being good at Maths isn’t a gift
4) Yes it is.
5) No it isn’t

The group of kids have a bust up and Mirabel escapes.

Mirabelle: Phew, that was close.

(to audience) Everyone wants to know what my gift it is. But I don’t have one.
I’m the only one in my family who didn’t get one. But I’m fine. I will just stand
on the side as they shine.

Madrigal house begins to crack and the magical candle rolls in. Everybody
panics.

Mirabel: It’s alright everyone. We will save the miracle.

Abuela: What are you talking about! Look at our home. The cracks started
because of you.
Mirabel: Abuela…I will never be good enough for you will I?

Abuela leaves.
Mirabel; We need to find Bruno

All: We don’t talk about Bruno

Mirabel: But he can see into the future. He can tell us what to do. I know I
should have asked this a long time a go but why don’t we talk about Bruno?

Abuela enters and confronts Mirabel

Abuela: You have to stop Mirabel. I don’t know why you weren’t given a gift
but it is not an excuse to hurt this family. Bruno left us and disappeared. He
didn’t care and neither do you!
Mirabel: I love this family! We all love this family! You’re the one that doesn’t
care! You’re the one who is breaking our home!
Abuela: DONT YOU DA-
Mirabel: The Miracle is dying because of you!

The cracks begin to emerge again and the house begins to fall.

Mirabel: CASITA! NOOOOOOOOO! (Mirabel runs into the collapsing house)

Julietta: MIRABEL!

Mirabel disappears. The house is completely destroyed. Everyone is

searching for her. Abuela finds her crying by the river.

Abuela: Mirabel
Mirabel: I’m sorry. I didn’t want to hurt us. I just wanted to be something, I’m
not.
Abuela: This river is where we were given the magic. I thought we would have
a different life. I was given a miracle but I lost sight of who our miracle was
for.
And I am so sorry. I love you Mirabel.
Mirabel: Abuela, I love you too. I can finally see. We were given a miracle
because of you. We are a family because of you. All we need is each other.
Abuela: I prayed for the magic to come back and fill in the cracks. They sent
me you. You are a miracle Mirabel.
