b) Describe the pattern rule.

Answer: from the 1st figure which has 4 sticks, we add 2 (4+2) to get 6 sticks in
figure 2, then add 3 (6+3) to get 9 sticks in figure 3. The pattern is repeated,
that is, add 2 to get the number of sticks in figure 4 (9+2) and add 3 to get the
number of sticks in figure 5 (11+3) and so on.

So, starting with figure 1 we +2 then +3, repeating this pattern for all the
subsequent figures.
