TSG Election for the Academic Session 2024-25: Guidelines and Security

The TSG election for the Academic Session 2024-25 is scheduled on April 13th (Saturday) at the
Computer & Informatics Center (CIC), Takshashila, from 8 AM to 6 PM. Entry gates to the
Ramanujam complex will close promptly at 6 PM, with no admittance thereafter.
Students should take note of the following:
1. Access to the CIC premises will be granted through the Ramanujam complex gate upon
presentation of a valid Institute-issued photo identity proof (ID card, library card/medical
book). A printout of the ERP profile may also suffice. However, ERP Profile pictures on
mobile phones will not be accepted.
2. Mobile phones, electronic gadgets, and wallets are strictly prohibited within the Ramanujam
premises on election day.
3. No chits or additional documents besides the ID proof are permitted. Students found with
such items will be debarred from voting.
4. Students must remember their user ID and password for ERP and institute email to cast
their votes. If forgotten, passwords should be reset prior to voting.
5. Only students who have paid their semester fees are eligible to vote.
6. Boarders of Savitribai Phule Hall of Residence must park their bicycles near the Agriculture
department before the security post.

The following security guidelines are issued to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections:
1. Motorized vehicles are prohibited in and around the Hall of Residence and near the
Takshashila building from 07:00 AM until the completion of the election. Students are
advised against booking vehicles or hiring motorbikes from vendors and employees for
transportation between different hall residences and the Takshashila building.
2. Students granted permission to use vehicles are requested not to utilize them during the
election period or lend them to other students. Vehicles found disrupting the election process
will be confiscated by the security control room.
3. Inter-hall movement of students will be restricted after 11:59 PM on April 11, 2024, until the
day of the election.
4. Election campaigning is prohibited after 11:59 PM on April 11, 2024. Any violation will
result in strict action against the candidate.
5. Gathering of students in front of the Ramanujam complex gate and within the Hall of
Residences is not permitted on the day of the election.
6. Bicycles are not allowed beyond Gate no. 2 traffic post, and students will not be granted
entry from the Diamond Jubilee complex security gate.
7. Following the announcement of results, no victory parade or procession will be allowed
inside the IIT Kharagpur campus.
