Subject

Abnormal engine noise.

Failure/Problem

Worn crankshaft or thrust bearing.

Symptom

After starting the engine round about 10 minutes.

The engine is abnormal sound appear.

History

The machine is not change engine oil about 500 hrs. It change the filters.
Now, this machine is about 400 hrs.

Cause & analysis

-Fuel injection timing improperly.

-Injection nozzle pressure improperly.
-Blown out head gasket, piston ring.
-Loosen exhaust pipe.
-Valve clearance improper adjust.
-Damage rocker arm.
-Loosen flywheel bolt
-Worn crankshaft or thrust bearings
-Damage connecting rod bushing and piston pin
-Foregin material in the cylinder.

Action

Firstly, we check the engine mounting bolt, exhaust pipe, water pump bolt, fun belt, flywheel bolt.
It is good condition. We are checking the fuel line leakage, injector spray pattern, unit pump.
This is normal. Secondly, we check air induction system, exhaust pipe, and mulfler. This is normal.
We are doing the engine oil drain from engine drain plug. We found engine oil is very dark and metal pieces is
found. So, we think crankshaft bearing is worn. Above the condition engine, abnormal sound is very noise.
So, we decision the engine oil life.
