During the past few years, the university curriculum has put considerable pressure on college

students to attain credit for graduation as opposed to the requirements for an elementary student.
This phenomenon can be attributed to several reasons and solutions could be implemented to
alleviate this circumstance.

There are two major reasons associated with this issue. Firstly, strict requirements are considered
as the main culprit behind academic pressure. High standards such as a good command of
knowledge, and the ability to self-study,... are set for students which makes them come under
pressure to put more effort into achieving good academic performance and hence, they run the
risk of mental health such as depression, insomnia, ... due to the lack of entertaining activities.
This can be explained by the fact that the cases of students who commit suicide due to college
pressure in VietNam are at an alarming rate at 100 cases in 2022 which is unprecedented. As a
result, these strict standards tire college students out and lead to an outlook from students that the
university curriculum is challenging. Secondly, a wider scale in the number of students leads to
less private support from teachers. Subsequently, students can't gain deeper insight into the
lecture which acts as a deterrent to being enthusiastic about the lessons.

Fortunately, several measures could be adopted to mitigate this problem. First and foremost,
universities can divide classrooms into smaller units or spur students on to participate in
discussion or teamwork to capture students' imagination of the curriculum. Secondly, head
teachers should incentivize professionals to be willing to engage with students to find out the
obstacles or difficulties that they face.

In conclusion, it is clear that there are various reasons that caused this viewpoint, but some
solutions could be adopted to tackle these challenges. It can be predicted that with appropriate
implementation of these suggested measures, these problems could likely to be addressed in the
near future
