specially mechanised for dry and wet waste along with various domestic bio-waste components.

Bin Free CityBesides open dumping yards, garbage and waste containers were completely eradicated
within Indore. In 2016, all citizens of all 85 wards were introduced to the innovative option of door-to-
door waste collection vehicles, which resulted in making Indore a bin free and 100% at-source waste
segregation city. A three-bin segregated waste collection system, including 30,744 litter bins, is
established at all public and commercial areas and their 50 to 100 metre buffer area.

waste Generators, Park and garden, Hospitals and various medical organizations, stockyard , from these
various sources dry, wet, plastic, sanitary, domestic, hazardous and E-waste are collected by door-to-
door compartmentalised vehicle.

Ten Garbage Transfer Stations have been constructed in the city. The waste from all generators is
carried by compartmentalised vehicles to here in a suitable, segregated and organised manner and
further transported to various dry and wet waste processing sites.

in commercial and public sectors. In this cleaning procedure, waste is collected and transported in three
categories- dry, wet, and inert waste.

Disposing the Wet Waste In order to dispose of wet waste Gobar Dhan BIO CNG plant with a capacity of
550 TPD per day has been established. 95% methane mixed with 17500 KG Bio CNG generated from this
plant is used as fuel in city buses. From this procedure, 100 ton of compost is also obtained.

Through decentralised processing, to dispose of wet waste from the city, a garden waste management
plan has been implemented, according to which 569 parks and gardens are equipped with twin pits,
drum composting plant to generate compost, along with encouragement of community and home
composting. Today, home composting is done in more than 55000 houses.

On site waste composting is done on the spot by bulk waste generators and organic waste from food
joints is converted into compost through a door-to-door mobile composting van.

Disposal of Dry Waste -Two Centralized Material Recovery Facilities have been established at the
Centralized Processing Unit to dispose of various dry wastes. One is 400 TPD Capacity Fully Automatic
Material Recovery Facility, and another is 200 TPD Capacity Manual Material Recovery Facility. Four
decentralized material recovery facilities have also been set up in zero waste wards of the city.

Disposal of Three Other Types of WasteElectronic Waste, Domestic Hazardous Waste and Sanitary
Waste are sent to registered processors and recyclers at specialised plants for scientific and safe
disposal.

Disposal of Construction and Demolition WasteI.M.C. has set up a state-of-the-art plant with 100 TPD
capacities and five collection points to ensure the disposal and reuse of construction and demolition
waste.

Disposal of Legacy Waste by Bioremediation MethodThe disposal of 70 to 80 years old 15 lakh metric
tonnes of garbage was a mammoth task. Still, Indore Municipal Corporation has made it possible
through the bio-remediation method. Once covered with vast mountains of trash, this 100 acres of land,
worth 300 crores, has now been transformed into a green, clean and beautiful city forest.

premier league, Zero waste event, Zero waste premises, Disposable free markets, Backlane renovation,
Bottle crusher machines, Food atm, Aahar app and Robinhood army.

Cleanliness Of Water Bodies7000 out falls from the sewage lines of the houses situated on Kanh and
Saraswati Rivers were closed and connected to the reuse pipe network and sent to the Centralized
Sewage Treatment Plant at Kabit Khedi. on this plant 369 MLD. Sewage water is treated daily in these
S.T.P.s, and 33 % of this treated water is reused for irrigation of gardens and agriculture, cleaning roads,
dividers and toilets, water fountains and the remaining water is discharged.

Sludge from sewage is used to make compost with the help of BARC; a 100 TPD capacity sludge
hygienization plant is installed. By keeping in mind the health of SAFAIMITRA sewage line, septic tanks
and hazardous waste management technique are approached.
