● To provide insurance coverage and financial support to the farmers
in the event of failure of any of the notified crops as a result of
natural calamities, pests & diseases.

● Objectives: To Meet Financial Needs of the Farmers to ensure proper
crop health and appropriate yields.
● Financial benefit of Rs 6000/- per year in three equal installments, every
four months is transferred into the bank through Direct Benefit Transfer
(DBT) mode.
● initially meant for Small and Marginal Farmers (SMFs) having
landholding upto 2 hectares, but later extended to cover all landholding
farmers.
● Central Sector Scheme with 100% funding from the Government of
India.
● launched- 12 September 2019
● Ministry- Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
● Objectives: started to provide social security to all landholding Small and
Marginal Farmers (farmers whose land holdings are less than two hectares
of land in the country)..
● Under this scheme, a fixed pension of Rs.3,000/- will be provided to all eligible
small and marginal farmers.
● Eligibility- farmers between the age of 18 years and above and upto 40 years.
● Premium- Farmers have to contribute Rs.55 to Rs.200 per month till the age of 60
years.
● Spouses of the Small and Marginal farmers are also eligible to join
● Central Government will also make an equal contribution of the same
amount
● Pension Paid by- Life Insurance Corporation of India

● Soil Health Card (SHC) is a printed report which contains nutrient status of soil with
respect to 12 nutrients which are:
● pH, Electrical Conductivity (EC), Organic Carbon (OC), Nitrogen (N),
Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Sulphur (S), Zinc (Zn), Boron (B), Iron
(Fe), Manganese (Mn) and Copper (Cu) of farm holdings
● SHC is provided to all farmers in the country at an interval of 3 years so
that they can apply recommended doses of the deficient nutrients based on soil test
● Farmers can track their soil samples and also obtain their Soil Health Card
report.
● It is a detailed Field specific Report of Soil Productivity which contains soil fertility
and other soil parameters.

● Objectives- enhancing access to water for farming, expanding the cultivable
area under assured irrigation, improving water use efficiency, and
promoting sustainable water conservation practices
● three main components namely the AIBP (Accelerated Irrigation Benefit
Programme),Har Khet ko Pani HKKP and Watershed Development.
● remaining 30% can be used to reward and encourage farmers, panchayats, and other
stakeholders involved in fertilizer reduction and awareness generation.
