RAÚL MARTÍNEZ
JAVI RUEDA
HOW DOES IT COME ABOUT?
Its origin is almost as old as basketball or volleyball: it was born in
Holland in 1903, by the hand of Nico Broekhuysen, a physical
education teacher who wanted to create a game where men and
women could play in the same conditions.

The rules of the game are basic: two teams of eight members have the
mission of hitting a ball through a kind of ring or basket, which is located
about three meters high.
WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF?
The strategy is based on the passing of the ball, because you can not
advance with the ball, nor dribble or dribble. And whoever manages to
pass the ball more times through the basket in the four quarters of 15
minutes that the match lasts.
FIELD

The dimensions of the field are 40 x 20 m. in covered pavilion,

divided into two equal squares.

The dimensions of the field are 60 x 30 m. outdoors, divided into two

equal squares.

The penalty spot is 2.5 meters away from the basket.

According to official regulations, the baskets must be the same in

color, strong yellow is preferably used, to highlight them from the
ground or background of the pavilion.
NECESSARY MATERIAL

The ball used will be the same as the football, number 5, weighing
between 425 gr. and 475 gr.

The basket should face the center of the field. It has a height of 3.5
meters.

The wicker basket has a diameter of 39-41 cm.

TEAMS

A korfbal team is mixed (consists of 8 players, 4 women and 4 men). Each

korfbal match has a total duration of 60 minutes, divided into four halves
of 12.30 minutes. Between two halves there is a break of 10 minutes.

BASIC REGULATIONS

the zone is changed (attack / defense). You must jump with 2 feet and
throw with your hands together to score. The player has possession can
not dribble, nor move with the ball. If you can moer one foot (pivot)
