Report on JOURNOSCOPE 2K24

"Journoscope" a platform for building journalist, embark on


unforgettable journey to specialize in fostering creativity and
professional skills in media related fields.

Starting with Day 1 of Journoscope2k24 dated 30/01/2024, our


cheif guest of honor was Mr Gautam Bhattacharya. He was an
award winning Sports Journalist and Editor. He discussed on the
topic Storytelling in sports. Before the event the decorations team
geared up at its fullest. Few people went to bring decorating
items like chatpapers, scissors, sketch pens etc where some
people started making out creative stuffs out of it.

On Day 2 of Journoscope2k24 dated 12/02/2024, we mainly had


all the fun and exciting events. The events are In Focus, Journo
Pop, Press Pulse and Verbal Vortex. The students of The Heritage
Academy department of Media Science was all set to run with the
first event of the day i.e. Journo Pop, a Vox Pop event at 11:30. A
Vox Pop (in Latin) means voice of the people. It is a video made
up of clips taken from spontaneous interviews of the public to
capture their opinions on a specific topic or issue, often used in
media reporting. The two topics were:
●Do you prefer OTT platforms over Movie Theatres, for viewing
content? Why?
●Do we need more schools than places of worship in the country?
The event head of Journo Pop was Preeshit Roy. Each and every
video were played in the auditorium and the judges marked them
on the basis of few parameters.The judges of this event were
Professor Barnali Ray and Professor Masum Sengupta.
Next event was Press Pulse, a News Carousel event where
participants create captivating news corousers on surprise topics
using the 10 Carousel format. The participants presented their
PowerPoint presentation in the auditorium infront of the judges
and marked them on the basis of few parameters. The judges
where Professor Manasi Agarwal and Professor Agnijita
Mukherjee. The event head of Press Pulse was MD Ayaan Ali.

Next we had In-Focus a Photo Journalism Event. Here the


participants capture the vibrant tapestry of humanity with Faces
of Diversity through a captivating photo series celebrating
individuality, unity, and the beauty of our differences. The Theme
of this event was "Faces of Diversity". More than 10 participants
had participated in this event. The participants presented their
Photo Series in the auditorium infront of the judges and marked
them on the basis of few parameters. The judges where
professor Agnijita Mukherjee and professor Rajesh Shinde. The
event head was Tilottama Sen Sharma.

Next we had two guests on the stage talking about various topics
mainly Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The audience were
actively listening to the guests speaking. In the end the house
was open for the audience when the audience asked questions to
the guests.

Simultaneously we had Verbal Vortex, a Debate event happened


at the Mac Lab. Verbal Vortex is a journey of words and ideas.
The debate competition is not just a platform for discourse; it's a
celebration of the art of persuasion, critical thinking and the
power of words, thought-provoking debate on pressing issues,
showcasing their wit, knowledge, and oratorical prowess. The
participants presented their debate in for and against the motion
infront of the judge and marked them on the basis of few
parameters. The judge of this event was professor Subhrajit
Ganguly. The event head was Shrishti Bagchi.

At the end the Winners of the event were announced and Prizes
Distribution Ceremony happened where Dean ma'am professor Dr.
Madhupa Bakshi along with other professors gave the winners
Certificates and Trophies.
Report on OSCAR 2024
The 96th Academy Awards ceremony, which was presented by
the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), and
