INTRODUCTION
§1
This manual covers the information on aftersales service for the NIDEK CV-7000.

Appropriate service work requires full understanding of this manual before actual work is attempted.

Use the CV-7000 Operator’s Manual together with this manual.

The specifications of this system are subject to change without notice for improvement. For major changes,
refer to the corresponding TECHNICAL BULLETIN (T.B.) issued in each instance.

If the system cannot be repaired by following this Service Manual, inform NIDEK of the Serial Number of the
instrument, and the details of the symptom(s).
CAUTIONS
§2
2.1 Cautions in Using this Manual
1) This Service Manual is targeted only for servicepersons with full knowledge of this system who have
been properly trained at the NIDEK head office or at NIDEK INCORPORATED. Any other persons
are prohibited from performing maintenance.
2) This Service Manual includes no descriptions related to the operation of the system. Before using this
Service Manual, thoroughly read the Operator’s Manual.
3) The contents of this Manual are subject to change without notice for improvement. Check updated
information as necessary.

2.2 Cautions in Aftersales Service

Cautions that should be taken in aftersales services are listed:
1) When performing aftersales service, be sure to wear a pair of rubber gloves as a protection from
bacterial infection. Do not touch gloves used in surgery which have not been sterilized.
2) When checking the performance of the system, be sure to use a sterilized handpiece.
3) Follow the steps designated in this Service Manual when performing aftersales service. Any service
performed counter to the steps may result in a primary accident or secondary accident.
4) When performing aftersales service, turn OFF the power switch and unplug the power cord unless
necessary. Service work while the system is powered may damage parts or cause an electric shock.
5) In case of a malfunction, turn OFF the power switch just after checking details of the malfunction. If
the system is left powered under such conditions, it may be additionally damaged.
6) Check continuity and measure applied voltage as instructed in “Troubleshooting” referring to wiring
diagrams. When checking continuity, turn OFF the power switch. Turn ON the power switch only
when measuring voltage.
7) Be careful not to drop removed screws and parts inside the system or lose them. Prepare a storage case
for these parts that tend to get lost and put them together into the case. It is suggested to temporarily
screw the removed screws or fix parts as they were originally, or put them into appropriate bags and
place them close to where they were removed so as not to mix them with the other screws or parts and
lose them.
8) When attaching covers after service, pay attention not to catch wires between covers.
9) Adhere to local administrative provisions related to safe service: Servicepersons are obliged to wear a
pair of safety shoes when transporting heavy loads and a pair of gloves as a protection from an electric
shock or injury.
10) The wiring of the primary side of the transformer depends on the input voltage: AC 100 V, 115 V, 200
V, 215 V and 230 V; before service, check the input voltage. If the primary side of the transformer is
not wired properly in accordance with the input voltage, a system malfunction or damage to the system
may result.

§9 ERROR MESSAGE TABLE

9.1 Error Message Table

• In this section, the details of each error message and countermeasures are explained.
• If multiple check items and countermeasures are provided for the error message, start performing the
provided check/countermeasure with a smaller number assigned first (beginning from Step {.)
• Keep the main body OFF for purposes other than the check of the cause for the error message. If the
main body is kept ON, there is a fear that the error may become increasingly serious.
