Service Information

Curapuls 970 variac replacement.

Inside the Curapuls 970 unit a variac is used as an output power control.
This variac has been replaced with a different type.
Spare part number 2668.006 (spare parts list, item T3) found inside the service manual has been
replaced with a complete assembly which includes a mounting plate , the new type variac and the
micro switch.

The new variac is not compatible with mounting plate which is used with the old type.
When ordering the replacement variac, it is shipped as a complete assembly, ready to install.

Spare part number of the new variac / micro switch assembly is 0431.805

Part numbers for the separate items:

- Variac (new type) item T3: part number 2668.007

- Micro switch item S4: part number 2600.636

For replacement see the procedure inside the Curapuls 970 manual par. 4.5.14.

Connect the wiring to the variac / micro switch assembly as follows:

Blue wire to micro switch S4 to: contact C1 (thin 0.4 mm², central contact)
Black wire to micro switch S4 to: contact NO (thin 0.4 mm², normal open contact)

Blue wire to variac (T3) to: contact 1 (thick 0.75 mm²)

Black wire to variac (T3) to: contact 2 (thick 0.75 mm²)
Brown wire to variac (T3) to: contact 4 (thick 0.75 mm²)

6 Yellow/green marked wire to: Chassis of the unit (ground)

* Numbers are found on the connection strip of the variac.

assembly.
