PROGRAM
The Doctor of Dental Medicine

The Doctor of Dental Medicine degree program is meant to

relevant biological sciences, good clinical skills, and an
understanding of the dentist's responsibility as a health
professional and community leader.

3
PROGRAM LENGTH
The DMD degree takes up to 4 years

The reason it takes up to four years is because

it requires extensive training in multiple
aspects of dentistry, including in dental
sciences, clinical skills, and patient care, all of
which are critical for future dentists to have

REASON FOR INTEREST
I am interested in the choice of going to university since it can provide me
with several opportunities. It's an opportunity for me to expand my
knowledge, meet new people, and learn more about topics that interest me,
such as dentistry. Universities offer a helpful atmosphere for personal and
academic growth. Studying dentistry in general is interesting since you are
assisting others with their dental health, which allows you to make a positive
impact on people's smiles and overall well-being.

JOB PROSPECTS
Job prospects for someone with a DMD who
wishes to advance to become a dentist are
very good in the province of British
Columbia. While the career prospects are
really strong, there will most certainly be
Orthodontist many more possibilities for someone to work
as a dentist. Decent career prospects in
dentistry mean an achievable possibility of
getting work and moving up in the sector to
an orthodontist.

8
PLACE OF STUdY
My plan is to study abroad in Australia, most
UOM likely at the University of Melbourne, since
UBC
once you've completed all of your courses of
study, it only takes about a year to get a dental
license there, whereas it takes much longer in
Canada. But if that doesn't work out, my
second choice is to go to UBC and get my
degree, but will take me a longer time to
obtain the license. One advantage of attending
UBC is that I will be closer to my parents; yet,
if I study abroad, I will not see my family as
much.
