Job Description: Diagnostic Engineer

Department: Design

Job role overview:

The Diagnostic Engineer is a key role in the Technical Publications team.


Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for all aspects of our class leading diagnostic
software, including everything from routine calibration updates to the implementation and roll out of
major software revisions.
You will work alongside our suppliers to deliver software to specification, on time and on budget.

Report to: Technical Publications Team Leader

Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK, LE10 3BZ

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning of diagnostic software release schedules with model teams and communication of
software releases schedules to key stakeholders
• Production of accurate documentation for each release
• Maintaining vehicle specific database tables
• Managing/procurement and maintenance of test rigs and motorcycles
• Managing/maintaining test computers, interfaces and other equipment
• Testing, validation and final software sign off
• Second line software support, logging of reported bugs, progress tracking and roll out of bug fixes
• Evaluation of requested software changes, feature requests and new functionality driven by new
model plan
• Identification of new regulatory requirements and future technology drivers
• Production of software specifications and test plans
• Creation of software text and Graphical User Interface (GUI) screens, and management of text
translations
• Liaison with Training teams to communicate changes and identify training requirements
• To undertake and assist with projects as required by your Manager.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as required by your Manager.

Essential Desirable
Qualifications and Maths and English GCSE grade C or Educated to HND level or above
Attainments above. in Electrical/Electronic
Engineering or Automotive
Engineering
Professional Proficient in Microsoft Packages Previous experience of working
