S.No. Checks Check

During the Master / Pilot information exchange, check with Pilot if vessel will need to tie
1.
up to the approach / tie up wall.
Discuss with Pilot if there is an option to slow down, anchor or drift instead of tying up.
2.
The ultimate decision to go tie up to the wall or not sits with the Bridge Team.
If there is no option, request for the Tie-Up Service to be provided. Inform FIL Operator
3.
immediately.
If the Tie-Up service is unavailable, then as a last resort, the Seaway Landing Boom
4.
can be used to land ship’s crew, always in compliance with vessel-specific WI D/119.
5. Landing boom must NOT be used for retrieval of any person. Use Pilot Ladder.
