Introduction:
(1) The Greatest Commandment: Mark 12:28-30 - [28] One of the teachers of the law came
and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of
all the commandments, which is the most important?” [29] “The most important one,” answered
Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. [30] Love the Lord your God
with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
(2) In Jesus dwells all the fullness of the Godhead: Colossians 2:9 NKJV - For in Him dwells
all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

God's Godness:
A. Omnipotent (The ability to do anything)
(1) Jesus calms a storm: Matthew 8:26 NKJV - But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O
you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great
calm.
(2) Jesus raised the dead: John 11:43-44 NKJV - [43] Now when He had said these things, He
cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” [44] And he who had died came out bound hand
and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose
him, and let him go.”
B. Omnipresent (The ability to present everywhere)
(1) Jesus is everywhere: Matthew 18:20 NKJV - For where two or three are gathered together in
My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
(2) Jesus is presence with all his followers: Matthew 28:20 NKJV - teaching them to observe all
things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
C. Omniscient (The ability to know everything)
(1) Jesus knows people even before he met them: John 1:48 NKJV - Nathanael said to Him,
“How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you
were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
(2) Jesus knows every secret: John 4:17-18 NKJV - [17] The woman answered and said, “I have
no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ [18] for you have had
five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.”

Father, Son and Holy Spirit in Jesus:

A. Father: Father designates ownership and origin. It designates God Godness, not limited by
flesh or matter.
(1) Jesus as a father creates and owns everything: John 1:3-4 NKJV - [3] All things were made
through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. [4] In Him was life, and the
life was the light of men.
(2) Jesus as a father can do anything as God: Philippians 3:21 NKJV - the Lord Jesus Christ, who
will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the
working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
B. Son: Sonship designates the one who is obedient and a redeemer. It designates God in flesh,
who is limited by flesh or matter. It designates God humanity.
(1) Jesus as a son grew as genuine human being: Luke 2:52 NKJV - And Jesus increased in
wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.
(2) Jesus as a son is obedient and submissive: Mark 14:36 NKJV - And He said, “Abba, Father,
all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but
what You will.”
C. Holy Spirit: The term Holy Spirit designates one who indwells and comforts human beings.
It designates God's presence and comforts.
(1) Jesus as the Holy Spirit is the indweller: John 14:17-18 NKJV - [17] the Spirit of truth, whom
the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He
dwells with you and will be in you. [18] I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
# John 14:27 ESV - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I
give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
(2) Jesus as the Holy Spirit is our comforter and peace: John 16:33 NKJV - These things I have
spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of
good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
(3) Jesus is the Holy Spirit who dwells in our life: Romans 8:9 NKJV - But you are not in the
flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the
Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
# Paul acknowledged the Holy Spirit who is the helper as the Spirit of Jesus Christ: Philippians
1:19 ESV - for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this
will turn out for my deliverance.

Conclusion:
To believe in Jesus means to believe in God. To love God with all our heart means to love Jesus.
There is no other God to believe and to love apart from Jesus, for in Jesus all the fullness of
divinity dwells bodily because Jesus is God in flesh as we see in 1 Timothy 3:16 and John 1:14.
