Project Concept Note: Developing an E-Learning Website for Secondary Schools in
Malawi.

1. Title: e-Learning Website for Secondary Schools.

2. Introduction: The project aims to revolutionize secondary school education in Malawi by


introducing an e-learning platform tailored to the needs of students and teachers. This
concept note serves to outline the key aspects of the project and its significance in
addressing the educational challenges faced by secondary schools in the country.

3. Background: Malawi faces significant challenges in its education sector, including limited
access to quality learning resources, insufficient infrastructure, and a shortage of qualified
teachers. According to UNESCO, only 32% of students in Malawi complete secondary
education. This project seeks to address these issues by leveraging technology to provide
accessible and interactive learning opportunities for secondary school students.

4. Objectives:

• Increase access to quality education for secondary school students in Malawi.

• Enhance learning outcomes and academic performance.

• Provide teachers with resources and tools to facilitate effective teaching.

• Foster digital literacy and 21st-century skills among students.

5. Project Description: The project involves the development and implementation of an e-


learning website specifically designed for secondary school curriculum in Malawi.
Activities include:

• Creation of interactive multimedia lessons aligned with the national curriculum.

• Development of assessment tools such as quizzes and assignments.

• Training sessions for teachers on how to use the e-learning platform effectively.

• Continuous monitoring and evaluation to ensure the platform meets the needs of
users.

• Food and Drinks: Mk10,000.00

• Domain and Hosting: Mk8,000.00

• Total: Mk30,000.00

Conclusion: The project to develop an e-learning website for secondary schools in Malawi
holds immense potential to transform the education landscape in the country. By leveraging
technology and innovative approaches, we can overcome existing barriers and empower
students and teachers to reach their full potential.
