Transportation: Roads, Bridges, Tunnels, Railways (Monorails,
Subways, High-speed Passenger Rail, Cargo Rail), Navigation
Facilities, Canals, Ports, Airports, etc.
Utilities: Water, Waste-water, Power, Gas, Hydrogen, Telecom, etc.
• Buildings: Residential, Commercial, High-rise Structures, etc.
• Industrial Projects: Manufacturing Facilities, Factories, etc.
• Renewable Power Generation / Environmental Projects: Solar Plants,
Wind Energy Parks, Environmental Protection, etc.

Life-cycle Approach
Projects are not only Developed, Designed, Planned and Built which
includes as well Feasibility Studies and Financing.
The Life-cycle Approach accompanies a project also throughout its
entire Operation and Maintenance until its Decommissioning.
This involves the life-long complex Management of all Project
Requirements, Software Applications and Data Processing and
Management.
Geo-spatial and Geo-terrestrial Systems, Geomatics, Geoinformatics,
Artificial Intelligence, Data Management will play an increasing Role
in land-based and off-shore Projects.

Our Approach
Curriculum and Academic Teaching
The Civil Engineering Curriculum is permanently upgraded in all core
and major courses, including up-to-date Elective courses.
Elective courses offer students are tailored approach to learning,
many will be interdisciplinary and shared with other faculties, e.g.
BIM with Architecture, AI with IET. Others are planned in financial
modeling, accounting, BI and real estate marketing with Management
Technology as well as contracts, arbitration with Law.
Students are guided personally from the early beginning, we want to
reduce advising and probation, and we shall not leave anyone behind
who shows good commitment.

Research and Student Involvement
Research plays an important role for GUC Civil Engineering. Academic
Teaching and Research go hand-in-hand, developing and keeping a
cutting edge and distinguish us from others.
We are establishing research teams they will be centered around the
major future-oriented technologies and developments.
Research teams shall include junior TAs and interested Students.
