I. Project Overview:

This project aims to empower Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members in La Trinidad,

Benguet, by equipping them with the financial literacy and management skills

necessary to effectively allocate their budgets and make impactful decisions for their

communities. Through a comprehensive seminar and practical exercises, we will guide

participating SK members, particularly those from barangays facing financial

challenges or with inexperienced representatives, towards informed financial decision-

making that benefits their constituents.

II. Project Goals:

A. Enhance the financial literacy and management skills of La Trinidad SK

members.

B. Equip participants with the ability to comprehend the La Trinidad budget

and prioritize community needs.

C. Develop skills in project costing, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation for

effective resource allocation.

D. Improve decision-making capabilities through case studies and simulation

exercises.

E. Contribute to the overall development and well-being of La Trinidad

communities by fostering sound financial management practices among

SK members.
III. Project Scope:

A. Organize and conduct a two-day seminar for La Trinidad SK members,

focusing on:

1. Understanding the La Trinidad budget and financial framework.

2. Needs assessment and prioritization techniques for community

projects.

3. Project costing and budgeting methodologies.

4. Monitoring and evaluation procedures for effective project

implementation.

5. Case studies and simulation exercises to apply learned skills in real-

world scenarios.

B. Develop and distribute comprehensive training materials for future

reference.

C. Provide post-seminar support and technical assistance to participants if

needed.

IV. Project Background and Sponsor

Understanding the La Trinidad Budget: Demystify local revenue sources,

expenditure categories, and legal frameworks governing budget allocation.


Needs Assessment and Prioritization: Equip members with tools and techniques to

identify community needs, conduct surveys, and prioritize projects based on

impact and budget constraints.

Project Costing and Budgeting: Train participants on accurately estimating

project costs, creating detailed budgets, and allocating funds efficiently within

B. Training Materials Development: Creation of engaging and informative

manuals, handouts, and other resources for the seminar and beyond.

C. Venue and Catering: Securing a suitable venue and catering services for

the two-day seminar.


D. Logistics and Coordination: Managing all logistical aspects of the project,

including registration, participant communication, and materials

distribution.

III. PROJECT OVERVIEW: This project, named "Libro mo, Libro ko", aims to ignite a love

for reading and empower Filipino children in Baguio City by giving them access

to age-appropriate, culturally relevant, and high-quality reading materials. We

believe every child deserves the magic of getting lost in a good book, and we're

committed to opening doors to new worlds and endless possibilities through the

joy of reading.

IV. PROJECT OBJECTIVE: To cultivate a lifelong love for reading in 500 Filipino

children in Baguio City by December 2024, empowering them with access to

2,000 age-appropriate, culturally relevant, and high-quality books, fostering a

vibrant reading community, and nurturing a culture of literacy support.

V. Service Required

● Campaign Strategy Development : Planning stage which sets out the other

services required.

● Creative Development : Promotions such as flyers to spread information about

the event to call out people interested especially children.

● Event Management : Crucial for it will affect how the event will turn out.

● Reporting & Evaluation : Count of collection of books donated and gathered.


VI. SCOPE OF WORK:

● Book collection: How will the books be gathered? Will you solely rely on

donations, organize book drives, or purchase books?

● Partnership model: Will you collaborate with schools, libraries, or

community centers for distribution and activities? Who will handle logistics

and event organization?

● Volunteer engagement: How will you recruit and manage volunteers for

reading activities and mentorship programs?

● Community reach: What strategies will you implement to reach children in

underserved areas beyond established partnerships?

● Funding mechanisms: How will you fund the project? Will you rely on

grants, individual donations, or corporate sponsorships?

ability to mobilize donations.

organizations.
