There are 38 buses, the numbers, at the end of the bus name indicated the bus
voltage e.g GROSS69, implies that the bus voltage at GROSS is 69kV.
Checking, that all MVA line flows are below 100% by selecting branches in the left
window, the results are indicated below.

There are 57 lines in the network, the lines are connected between two buses and
the names of the buses are given in columns 2 and 4.
The branches or lines that have a transformer are indicated using a “yes” in column
7. The percentage loading of the lines can be checked in column 12. The values are
all below 100%
There are three violations as indicated above. The affected lines (first three) are
shown at the top of the above table with their maximum loadings of 111% in this
case.
Reconfigure the results in 5.3 so that there will no overloads when line fails.
Reconfiguring the network involves re-routing the power to the centres around the
violated lines.
To reconfigure the network around the affected lines so that there are no violations
when a contingency analysis is performed by connecting AMA69 load to the network.
In order to calculate per unit values of resistance and reactance of each conductor, It
was assumed that all conductors connected to load AMA69 are Rook conductors
with R=0.1688Ω/mile and X=0.414Ω/mile. The base MVA was assumed to be
100MVA and the base voltage used, are the voltages across conductors between
two buses. The given distances in the book were used to calculate the resistance
and the reactance of the conductor.
Zpu=(Zactual x MVA base)/(kV)2 is the formula used to calculate per unit values
