a change to one element of the exposure triangle can be compensated for by a
corresponding change to another element of the triangle; resulting in an
identical exposure (i.e a photo that is just as dark or light), but influencing the
photographic outcome in other ways beyond the amount of light hitting the
sensor. This might be depth-offield, the ability to freeze movement, or digital
noise, as illustrated below.
