THE DEADLY MYTHS HOLDING YOU BACK FROM WRITING A
COMPELLING COPY
NEWS FLASH…

You are boxed!

I have a sneaky feeling that you are one of them,

…yes, those that wouldn’t craft their winning copy because of some deeply held
myths.

A lot of times, people don’t hit the ground running with copywriting because they
allow themselves to be caged by these unfounded myths…

BAD NEWS…

Perhaps, you used to be one of them,

…GOOD NEWS…

That does not need to be so again, as you have taken a bold, commendable step
to be here.

Let’s dive right in!

Here are the 3 DEADLY MYTHS that I know, from my experience, have been
holding people back:

MYTH ONE: I am NOT naturally gifted in writing… so I CANNOT be a genius

Really…

Who sold you on that?

You don’t need to be a gifted writer to be good at copywriting.

Yes, have the gift can help…BUT every gift is just a raw material

You will need to hone, develop and refine that raw material to stand any chance
of making something great out of it.

Copywriting, like any other skill, is learnable…

My believe is this: At the end of this course, on a scale of 0 to 10 (zero (0)


meaning absolutely no knowledge of copywriting …and ten (10) meaning being a
pro, you will easily become a seven (7)….which means you are more than above
average)

Now don’t be frightened, but you deserve to know the truth…


Becoming a 10 (pro level) will so much depend on your WILL to practice. And
that’s why I would suggest you take doing your assignments seriously.

I have seen a great writer that is a poor copywriter…AND…also a great copywriter


that is not naturally gifted in writing.

Why is that?

Good question.

The next MYTH answers that…

MYTH TWO: I ONLY need to master copywriting and NOTHING else

Now this is where all gifted writers fall flat on their faces.

Copywriting is a different kettle of fish.

Here you don’t write like the typical traditional writer who writes to massage his
ego and showcase his awesomeness.

As copywriters, our obsession is different…

We only write to SELL…

A copy that is NOT pulling in massive sales is a poor copy… no matter what your
ego makes you believe

What does that mean?

It simply means a genius copywriter is a life-long student of marketing, sales


persuasion, buyer’s behavioural psychology, creativity and a whole lot more…

So when next you see someone brag about how great they are at copywriting,
when the copy is not pulling in sales,

…ask the person to go say that to the dogs!


And if you still think that you are not a gifted writer…because of that you cannot
write a good copy (copy that sells),

…well that’s easily a lazy man’s excuse.

Fix it!

Now the THIRD MYTH…

MYTH THREE: Short copy converts way better than long copy…

This has been an age-long debate among copywriters.

Writing a short copy Vs a Long copy…

Well…here is the ONE answer from me that puts all these to bed.

NONE CONVERTS BETTER THAN THE OTHER!

Everything boils down to your ability to capture and hold the full attention of your
reader.

If your copy is compelling enough, your reader wouldn’t mind staying the course
to read it …AND THEN…take action (more important)

Every great copy starts with a good understanding your “product.”

Without that knowledge, your copy will fail woefully…and I don’t care how great a
copywriter you are

This makes the next MODULE the most important of all that you will need to get
yourself to write a copy that will make millions
