BHARAT TEX 2024

Bharat Tex was one of the largest textile events in the entire world and It was being
inaugurated by honourable prime minister Shri Narendra Modi.
On the first day we went to Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The event served as a
platform for companies to exhibit their latest advancements and offerings.
Bharat mandapam had various departments to showcase such as Fiber, Technical
textiles, Fabric and accessories, Apparel department
It showcased each and every process of garment manufacturing, fabric manufacturing
from fibre to yarn to fabric. Companies like Aravind Mills, Aditya Birla, Shahi,
Filatex, Welspun, Reliance and many more exhibited themselves. While exploring i
got to know about many new technologies, like

[1] Seshaasi- The company focuses on providing secure technology solutions, for
example they introduced the RFID chips in the tag of garments so that they can track
the number of garments and production easily through there app. There machines
helped to count the number of garments through the tag. This technology was also
being used by the Vardhman group in Ludhiana in their garment industry.
[2]ColorJet- This company produces printed fabric through machines. They
portrayed the technology of printing any design on the fabric through machine in a
very short period of time. There latest machine METRO NXT, has a great production
capability of up to 9,000 sqm/day, considerably reducing the pressure associated with
long industrial production runs in a short time. It can print up to 8 colours.

[3] Welspun- they use RFID tags to track the fibre’s past. And they use Hygrocotton
technology which regulates temperature and produces hollow core cotton that gets
softer with every wash.

[4] Trident- uses premium long staple cotton, and they also use ciclo poly lyocell
which is 180-220 gsm enhances the biodegradability with ciclopoly while enjoying
the smoothness of cotton and luxurious sheen of excel. We have seen smart fibres such
as Hexarill fibre which is of 270 GSM which is used for Extreme cold weather
clothing system.

[5] ABFRL- From the iconic MFL Brands such as PANTALOONS to the
trendsetting designs of HOUSE OF MASABA and Tasva, they showcased the diverse
medleys of Indian fashion at the Bharat Tex 2024.
Bharat Tex gave them a sneak peek of their Re Earth Sustainability Display, where the
journey toward sustainability unfolded through an immersive 3D Installation Box.
The audience also witnessed artisans' craftsmanship like Mohammed Kazeem Khatri
at the Jaypore Artisan Display, where tradition met modernity. For the last 17 years,
Kazeem has immersed himself in the intricate world of Bagh Print, a 14th-century
tradition woven into the fabric of his family’s history. With a remarkable experience,
he seamlessly weaves the threads of the past with contemporary flair, adorning sarees,
dupattas, and fabrics with unique and captivating designs.

27 th February, 2024, Delhi - In a revolutionary move, Birla Cellulose has

unveiled its latest innovation, Birla Viscose - Intellicolor, at the prestigious Bharat Tex
event. Birla Cellulose is poised to redefine the landscape of the textile industry with
its patented product, addressing a long-standing challenge with conventional reactive
dyeing.
Intellicolor represents a groundbreaking advancement in the dyeing process, using
Cationic or Basic dyes. It boasts a remarkable dye exhaustion rate exceeding 95%,
surpassing conventional methods. It eliminates the need for salt and soda ash in the
dyeing process, streamlining operations and reducing environmental impact. By
achieving brighter shades with higher tinctorial value and color depth compared to
reactive dyes, it offers superior color vibrancy while using lower dye concentrations.
This results in reduced chemical consumption, lower utility usage, shorter processing
times, and decreased dye quantities required, thereby promoting sustainability in
dyeing practices.
In conventional or traditional reactive dyeing processes, the use of reactive dyes often
necessitates the addition of large quantities of salt to the dye bath. This is primarily
due to lower dye bath exhaustion, which results in inadequate dye fixation onto the
fabric. As a consequence, high salt concentrations are required to facilitate the dyeing
process, leading to significant levels of both salt and unreacted dye being discharged
as the effluent. The presence of excessive salt and unreacted dye in the effluent not
only poses environmental concerns but also adds to the costs associated with effluent
treatment. Intellicolor, aims to usher in a new era by introducing an innovative
solution that not only overcomes this challenge but also enhances the overall quality
of dyed fabrics.
Moreover, Intellicolor facilitates a more sustainable approach to dyeing by
necessitating fewer washes post-dyeing and eliminating fixing steps. This not only
conserves water but also reduces energy consumption and ETP operating cost thus
leading to huge savings on the utility consumption. It marks a significant
advancement by enabling dyeing with Basic dyes, promising enhanced dye uptake
and superior wash fastness compared to traditional Reactive dyes.

Speaking on this ground-breaking achievement, the Chief Marketing Officer

(CMO) of Grasim Industries, Pulp & Fibre Division, Mr. ManMohan

Singh expressed pride in the company's commitment to innovation. "This is a proud
moment for Birla Cellulose as Birla Viscose Intellicolor marks the first of its kind in
our ongoing pursuit of excellence. Our commitment to pushing the boundaries of
what is possible in textile manufacturing has led to this remarkable innovation," the
CMO stated.
Further, the MD of Grasim Industries, Mr H.K Agarwal, stated, “Today, we
mark not just a milestone in innovation, but a commitment to sustainability. Birla
Viscose Intellicolor heralds a new era of vibrancy and responsibility in the textile
industry, where innovation meets environmental consciousness. At Birla Cellulose, we
weave sustainability into every thread of our operations, ensuring a brighter, more
sustainable future for textiles."
The launch of Intellicolor at Bharat Tex signifies a monumental moment in the textile
industry and promises reduction in water & energy. This fibre not only meets the
immediate needs of the industry but also aligns with the sustainability goals of leading
brands, marking a significant step towards a more environmentally conscious and
vibrant future for the textile sector.
we’ve learned from the scratch that how the fibre results into yarn and yarn into the
fabric and then finally the garment there was so much of exposure of different
industries, we could compare between them at the same time with our own knowledge
of the textile and apparel. Different brands like Aditya Birla or Welspun were present
there with their products explaining their concept with visual representation and using
new machineries and formulas. We got to know about new terms such as

[1] smart fibres (added benefits by responding, sensing or reacting to the environment,
made with high performance yarns).
[2] Macro protection fibre (filament or staple) these type of fibres helps in preventing
the spreading of fire (these fibres pass international fire standards). 3. High end fibres
for worsted spun yarns: to avoid pilling in the fabric these yarns are specialised to
prevent that and are tailored to for with blends of wool.

Even i went to a brand named Filatex, it made yarn from scratch/waste fabric made
from polyester, there were main 4 processes involved in making that type of yarn
named as depolymerization , polymerisation , spinning , recycle these 4 processes stay
on loop due to this the yarn is 100% sustainable and there’s zero wastage. Which
leads to economic and environmental friendly yarn. The headquarters of the company
is situated in Delhi, they are planning to expand their business and they’re the first
Indian manufacturer of polyester filament yarn. Conclusion: It was the best event we
can ever go to have such a great exposure of all the industries related to fashion and
textile all at once within the same place, a great thanks to our faculty. We had so much
of interaction with our seniors or professionals who were presenting their company. It
was such a great pleasure to attend Bharat Tex.
