Review of book-
Origin (2017) by Dan Brown

The book revolves around our 007, Robert Langdon’s pursuit of the
mystery of the assassination of his friend Edmond Kirsh, who was
about to end the debate between science and religion, based on a
recent discovery of his, when he was ruthlessly gunned down by a
mysterious shooter.
The character of Krish’s virtual PA, Winston (no doubt named after
Winston Churchill, who inspired Edmond a lot) is a true novelty In
this genre. Langdon and Winston together try to solve the death
mystery, although our beloved art professor keeps getting outshined
by the ultra-smart Winston.
The storyline occasionally delves into intricate and elaborate details,
which at times feel unnecessary, yet it ultimately redeems itself with
an exceptional conclusion filled with revelations.
I will recommend this book to mystery lovers, or readers who prefer
to read about the debate between religion and science.
The book highlights the extremes AI can reach, reminding us of the
importance of staying informed about the latest technologies and
understanding both their potential benefits and dangers.
This approach will also help me stay relevant in the industry in my
aspired career in finance as well. (lest it starts eating up jobs
previously performed by us, the petty humans!).
