II. Grammar :
1. Các giới từ (prepositions): by; from..to; on; at; in; between…and…; opposite; next to;
behind; under; in front of, near
Ex. She gets up at six.

2. Các dạng câu:
a) Câu cảm thán (an exclamatory sentence):
Ex: * Phàn nàn (complaints):
- What an expensive dress!
- What a wet day!
* Khen ngợi (compliment):
- What a great party!
- What a bright room!
b) Câu hỏi:
* Wh - questions:
Ex: - Where are you going? - I am going to the market.
- Why don't you go to school? - Because we have a vacation.
- Where does she work? - She works at a supermarket.
* Yes - No questions:
Ex: - Are you a student? - Yes, I am.
- Does she have English on Monday? - No, she doesn't.
* Or questions:
Ex: - Do you like soccer or volleyball? - I like soccer.
- Is he a mechanic or a driver? - He is a mechanic.
* Wh- questions.
Ex: -When do you have music? _ On Monday.
- What’s your telephone ?
- Which school do you go to ?
- Where does he live ?
- Who is Hoa talking to?
- Why is Hoa unhappy?
- How much are those? - They are 2,000 dong.
- How far is it from your house to the post office? - It's about 1 kilometer.
- How often does Nam play games? - He sometimes plays games. (Once or
twice a week.)
- How do you go to school? - I go to school by bike.
* Is there a ...? / Are there any ...?
Ex: - Is there a lamp? - Yes, there is. / - No, there isn't.
- Are there any armchairs? - Yes, there are. / - No, there aren't.
c) Câu đề nghị (suggestions):

Let's + V (infinitive) ...

Ex: - Let's play catch.

Why don't you + V (infinitive) ...?
Ex: - Why don't you play soccer?
Would you like + to + V (infinitive)
...?
Ex: - Would you like to see a movie?
Should we + V (infinitive) ...?
Ex: - Should we play volleyball?
What about + V-ing ...?
Ex: - What about watching TV?
d) Câu đáp lại lời đề nghị:
* Đồng ý (agreement):
- Good idea.
- Great!
- I’d love to.
* Không đồng ý (disagreement):
- I'm sorry, I can't.
3. Thể so sánh:
a) So sánh hơn (comparative):
* Tính từ ngắn: short, big, tall, long, cheap, strong….
S + be + adj-er + than ...
Ex: - She is thinner than me. (I am)
- This box is bigger than that one. (box)
* Tính từ dài: beautiful, expensive, intelligent, ……
S + be + more + adj + than ...
Ex: - This student is more intelligent than that one. (student)
* Tính từ đặc biệt:
- good → better : toát hôn
- well → better : khoeû hôn
- bad → worse : xaáu hôn, keùm hôn
- far → farther / further : xa hôn
- many / much → more : nhieàu hôn
- little → less : nhoû hôn, ít hôn, keùm hôn
b) So sánh nhất (superlative):
* Tính từ ngắn:
S + be + the + adj-est ...
Ex: - She is the tallest girl in my class.
* Tính từ dài:
S + be + the + most + adj
Ex: - This is the most beautiful…...
village in the country.
* Tính từ đặc biệt:
- good / well → the best : toát nhaát, khoeû nhaát
- many / much → the most : nhieàu nhaát
- little → the least : nhoû nhaát, ít nhaát
- bad → the worst : xaáu nhaát, keùm nhaát
- far → the farthest / the furthest : xa nhaát

4. Các thì (tenses):
a) Thì hiện tại đơn (simple present tense):(every day, in the morning, always,
never…)
* Khẳng định (positive form):
S + V (s/es)
Ex: - I go to school every morning.
- She gets up at 6 o'clock. Then she has breakfast at 6.30 and goes to school at
6.40.
* Phủ định (negative form): S + don’t / doesn’t + V

Ex: - She isn't at home.

- Lan doesn't like milk.
* Nghi vấn (interrogative form) Do / Does + S + V……?

Ex: - Is she at home?

- Does Lan like milk?
b) Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn (present progressive tense):(now, at the moment)
* Khẳng định:
S + am / is / are + V-ing...
Ex: - We are going to the zoo at the moment.
- Minh's father is planting trees now.
* Phủ định:
S + am / is / are + not + V-ing...
Ex: - We are not going to the zoo at the moment.
- Minh's father is not planting trees now.
* Nghi vấn: Am / Is / Are + S + V-ing ...?

Ex: - Are they singing now?

- Is Mai's mother cooking lunch at the moment?
c) Thì tương lai đơn(simple future tense): (tomorrow, next )
* Khẳng định:
S + will / shall + V (infinitive)...

Ex: - She will eat first. Then she will take a shower.
* Phủ định:
S + will / shall + not + V (infinitive)...
Ex: - I will not do a test tomorrow.

- We shall not go swimming next Sunday.
shan't
* Nghi vấn: Will / Shall + S + V (infinitive)...

Ex: - Will she eat first?

- Shall we go to the restaurant?
- Will they be late for school?
5. Trạng từ tần suất (adverbs of frequency)
a) Đặt trước động từ thường:
Ex: She often collects stamps.

b) Đặt sau động từ “to be”:
Ex: I am usually early.
