INTRODUCCIÓN

Seleccione un personaje icónico en el mundo durante tiempos de guerra, el personaje se llama


Abraham Lincoln, este fue un político y abogado estadounidense que ejerció como el décimo sexto
presidente de Estados Unidos.
Lincoln and His Presidential Legacy.

Abraham Lincoln was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky, on February 12, 1809. He grew up in what
was know as the Wild West. He was a largely self-taught man who became a lawyer in Illinois,
elected to the united States House of Representatives in 1846, promoted a change in economics
through sectors such as banking, taxes, and railroads , opted for did not return to congress in his
second term and resumed his law career in the city of Springfield. After 8 years he returned to
politics and became a leader in the construction of the new Republican party.

In 1860 Lincoln was elected as president of the United States of America by the Republican Party,
his presidential objectives were the cause of the division of the states.

Seven southern states joined to create the union. On April 12, 1861, the southern state started a
war because they felt harmed by the presidential proposals, since slavery was the basic of the
agricultural economy in the southern states, this was the reason why the states of Carolina del
South, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas were protesting in front of the
northern states

After 4 years of war in which thousands of men on both sides lost, finally on April 9, 1865, the Civil
War ended after Robert E. Lee surrendered at Appomattox. Lincoln was assassinated by John
Wilkes Booth on April 14, 1865, a sympathizer of the southern cause. Since then, Abraham Lincoln
has been considered by historians and public opinion public one of the best presidents of the
United States of America.
