Adverbs

Adverbs are words or phrases that modify a verb, an adjective and other adverbs.
Adverbs is use to
o Tell you when. (Example: I sometimes cook for my parents.)
o Tell you in what way. (Example: I ate the food prepared hungrily.)
o Tell you to what extent. (Example: I completely forgot about my work.)

Adjective To convert Examples


For most adjectives Add - ly Cheap = cheaply
Slow = slowly
Adjectives that end in - ic Add - ally Basic = basically
Ironic = Ironically
Adjectives ending with - y Replace the – y with - ily Happy = happily
Steady = steadily
Adjectives ending with – able , Replace the – e with - y Responsible = responsibly
- ible or - le Flexible = flexibly
Adjectives ending with ful Add - ly Hopeful = hopefully
Grateful = gratefully
