A woman officer, holding an
important position, is at the
end of her tenure in office.
Now, she is following the
maxim – good deed comes
around – so she is doing
good to everyone. Madam
has decided to close such
inquiries against some
officers as are being
conducted for minor faults.
She has already closed the
files related to the inquiry
against two IAS officers who
were feeling distraught. Both
the directly recruited officers
were upset about the probe.
The Chief Minister also put
his seal on madam’s
decision. Theirs was a minor
fault in comparison to the big
financial irregularities
committed in government
offices. Because of the
inquiry, they were not
getting promotion.� Madam
also opened the gate to their
elevation to the next
position.� The officers, upset
about the inquiry for a long
time, are relaxed because of
Madam’s positive attitude.
Now, a few officers have also
become active to get their
cases settled. �

pessimistic after the latter’s
posting to the Chief
Minister’s Secretariat. The
officer was making efforts to
become the Chief Secretary
through his high-profile
clout. The Sahib tried to hit
the target with help of a
person considered very
influential across the country.
Nevertheless, after the
posting of the ACS in the
CM’s Secretariat, it has been
decided that someone junior
to him will not be the CS.
There is no doubt that the
ACS will be the next CS. Now
trying to get a posting of his
choice.

important position. The

rounds for transfer to this
post. The officer assigned
with the job right now has
no problem if he has to
continue with the position or
has to go to some other
place. As he is close to the
Chief Minister, he knows any
decision will be taken only
with his consent. The names
of five officers are doing the
rounds for the post, but what
is important is that four of
these five officers had been
collectors of Bhopal. The
name of another officer is
also doing the rounds for the
post. His name has been
forwarded from the Chief
Minister’s home district. This
IAS officer has many
important departments. As
his name is doing the rounds
for that important position,
many people have
congratulated him. He has
wooed most of the senior
officers in the state
bureaucracy. Despite this,
people in the corridors of
power say nothing can be
said until an order is issued.
Reluctant
officer
A department, despite being
important, is treated as a
loop line. A Principal
Secretary posted there is
reluctantly working. An
important person in the state
is reportedly unhappy with
the officer’s style of working.
Rather than disposing of the
files, the PS writes ‘Charcha’
(discussion) on those folders
and returns them. He has no
fixed time to come to the
office. When the important
person is away from the
state capital, he attends the
office – though for a while. A
complaint about the officer’s

The stringent National Secur-
ity Act (NSA) has been invoked
against two persons arrested
after the recovery of beef from
a village in Morena district, po-
lice said on Sunday.
Following a complaint of
cow slaughter, the police on
Friday night seized beef and
cow hide from a house at the
Bengali colony in Noorabad
village of the district, police
said.
SDOP Adarsh Shukla told
reporters that a villager, Ani-
pal Gurjar, complained that he
saw some people slaughtering
a cow and when he opposed it,
he was attacked by them on
Friday evening,
Gurjar, who managed to es-
cape from the attackers,
lodged a police complaint, he
said. The police later seized
two sacks of bones and beef,
besides the cow skin, from the
house of the accused, SDOP
said.

In the wake of rage over the
cow slaughter incident in
Seoni, Chief Minister Mohan
Yadav emphasised on the
state’s commitment to uphold-
ing law and order, particularly
concerning cow protection
laws. “All districts have re-
ceived clear instructions re-
garding the enforcement of
these laws. Any individual
found guilty of violating the
cow slaughter prohibition will
face stringent penalties. We
are also supervising the en-
forcement actions at the state
level,” he said.
State level monitoring of
strict action against the ac-
cused is being done, Yadav
said while interacting with

Two SUVs collide on
Airport Road, one dies
An SUV going at high speed rammed into a jeep from
the rear on Airport Road of the city late on Saturday
night, the police said. The jeep turned turtle, and one
of its occupants died, police added. The man who died
in the incident has been identified as Ashfaq Mustafa
(35), a contractor. He was on his way to a restaurant
with five of his friends. Their jeep was parked on the
Airport road, when a SUV hit it from the rear. The jeep
overturned following the collision, and Ashfaq was
trapped under it leading to his death. His other friends
have sustained injuries, and are undergoing treat-
ment. The errant SUV driver which rammed into the
jeep fled from the spot, leaving the vehicle behind.
Gandhinagar police said that they have seized the ve-
hicle, and are searching for the accused car driver.

Pithampur (Mhow): A 35-year-old man was arrested and
sent to jail for raping a 14-year-old disabled girl from Dalit
community in Mangrol village under Sagaur police station

the Dalit community and is mentally disabled while the ac-

they did not get a position in
the Central Government,
they had to stay back in the
state. After the formation of
the government in the state,
her relationship with others
has curdled. Against this
backdrop, she wants to go
to the Centre to get rid of the
mess she is in.�

Barwani MLA Rajan Mandloi,
on Saturday, performed the
bhoomi pujan of an 8.30-km-
long road from villages Keli to
Umarbeda. The road, to be
constructed for Rs 8.47 crore,
will ease the journey of vil-
lagers in the hilly region. The
MLA was welcomed with
drums and flower garlands by
the villagers, who have been
demanding a road for years.
Mandloi assured that the gov-
ernment will approve and
construct roads in areas
where villagers have been
facing difficulties. The road, to
be built under the PWD, will
bring relief to the villagers
who have been struggling to
commute.
The MLA was accom-
panied by district panchayat
members Karan Darbar, Gyan
Singh Darbar, Balram Yadav,
Sher Singh Saste and a large
number of officers and em-
ployees of the PWD.

MPPSC exam: Candidates

Madhya Pradesh Public Ser-
vice Commission’s (MPPSC)
State Service Preliminary
Examination 2024 was con-
ducted on Sunday in two shifts.
The first paper, General
Studies, was held in morning
shift, and the second paper of
General Aptitude Test was
held in the second shift. This
exam is being conducted for
110 posts. A total of 1.8 lakh
candidates had applied for it
and more than 1.5 lakh candi-
dates took the exam.
The students who took the
first paper of General Studies
told Free Press that the paper
was moderately difficult.
About 30% to 40% of the ques-
tions were related to Madhya
Pradesh. Utkarsh Tiwari, 23,
attempting the exam for the
first time, described both
papers easy, with the CSAT
being moderate. He said that
overall, the papers were man-
ageable, and he expected the
cutoff to rise due to the easy
exam. Saurabh Pandey, 26, at-
tempting the exam for the sec-
ond time, said papers were
moderately difficult. Aman
Dubey, in his fourth attempt,
found both sets of papers to be
moderately difficult. He found
the questions on politics
relatively easy.
