TASK 1
INFO SLIDE: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has warned that we
have just 12 years to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius and avoid the worst impacts
of climate change. This is not a future problem; it is happening right now, and it is affecting
people all over the world.
TASK: In 4 minutes, make sense of the above statement by suggesting possible solutions.

TASK 2
INFO SLIDE: The Education System of Africa still lies in ruins. It is the year 2030, and the
situation is not any better in Low Developing countries.
TASK: You are standing before a global audience at the Annual United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals Summit; Deliver a five-minute speech advocating for urgent action
towards achieving SDG 4, Quality Education in Africa.

TASK 3
INFO SLIDE: You had 7 minutes to deliver a speech on the contribution of SDG 16 (Peace,
Justice and Strong Institutions) oriented government policies to secure a brighter future and
sustainable development. However, you are 3 minutes late.
TASK: The audience have been waiting for you and now you have arrived, get straight to the
point and start your speech with the words "The decisions we make today, shape the lives of
generations to come…"

TASK 4
TASK: You're stuck in an elevator with a powerful CEO notorious for prioritizing profits over
sustainability. Use the 60-second ride to pitch them on your chosen SDG, framing it as a
strategic business opportunity in disguise. Show how embracing this SDG can boost their brand
image, tap into new markets, and even save them money!

TASK 5
INFO SLIDE: You are on a TED Talk, and have been instructed to deliver a passionate,
personal speech about SDG 4.
TASK: Share a story of overcoming a challenge, OR a student-led initiative that made a
difference, OR a vision for a more sustainable future. Connect with the audience on an
emotional level and leave them with a call to action that resonates the SDG.
TASK 6
INFO SLIDE: Imagine you're a news reporter or anchor reporting live from a future shaped
by the successful implementation of SDG 1, Zero Hunger.
TASK: Paint a vivid picture of a thriving community, highlighting the positive impacts of
achieving SDG 1 on health, education, and environmental well-being.

TASK 7
INFO SLIDE: You have been tasked with developing a sustainable agriculture plan for your
community, considering factors like soil health, water conservation, pest control, and fair trade
practices.
TASK: How can you ensure food security while protecting the environment for future
generation?

TASK 8
INFO SLIDE: Imagine yourself as a superhero; not with physical strength, ice breath, laser
beams like Clark Kent. But your powers are; your voice, persuasive tongue with a dedication
to improving the health and well-being of your community.
TASK: Expand your superhero reach beyond your community. Research an ongoing health
challenge in another part of the world and propose a solution that could be implemented
there.

TASK 9
INFO SLIDE: "Dreams are the realities of our subconscious." You're not Martin Luther
King Jr, but you have a dream.
TASK: Selecting from the following SDG goals;
SDG 1 NO POVERTY
SDG 2 ZERO HUNGER
SDG 3 GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Begin a powerful speech with; I Have a dream........

TASK 10:
End your speech with the statement: …………. your health is your responsibility.
PLEASE NOTE;
1. Impromptu tasks will be tailored to fit specific Districts or Regions when the District
tournaments commence.
2. All learners should be acquainted with all the tasks
3. Some specific Tasks will run through all Districts and even surface at nationals.
4. Tasks for nationals will be shared after the close of District debates.
